Hey guys I was wondering what other ways you can use to make your hair straight aside from the hot iron. Preferably more permanent methods.
Also what are the risks/side effects/hair damage of different techniques?
My daughter had beautiful curly hair - of course, she didn't like it - so she straightened it a lot -it is now thin and straight - but on the top where it is new growth, it is trying to curl, but the weight of her long hair prevents it. She doesn't want to cut it but I think regrets using the iron so often to make her hair straight.
Why did she regret using the iron so much? Did it damage her hair, and is it a possible solution to do that every day?
Damaging hair is what strait irons do, it is how they work.
As for the rest of that sentence, I can't word a response without getting unpleasant. So I'm going to suggest that you read that sentence again & think about that you're asking.

She doesn't have to use an iron now - it is straight, damaged and looks like crap, in my opinion... It is only my thought that she might regret doing the flat iron all the time and the outcome was what she has now... You would not believe how beautiful her hair was before she started straightening it. She has a magnificent shade of red that cannot be duplicated out of a bottle but she has damaged her hair. She should cut it, but she is not ready to do that - it took her a long time to grow it out... So, as a witness to this, I really encourage people to accept the hair they've got. I don't like my thinning hair and the fact that I'll probably be bald some day, but this is life - and we have to accept what we got, embrace it and do our best with it. Some people have gorgeous hair genes - others don't
If you want to straighten your hair permanently you have to change your hair structure with chemicals. at first it destroys your hair structure then it is brought in the form you wish. At last it will be restructured and it stays the way but the new grown hair will have the genetical coded structure so the procedure has to be repeated.
It works for a long time but the damage is long term.
I have 25 uncles and aunts they ar all around 70 and they all have great hair with one exception, my mother, she has the same hair as I she is 65 and not a bit gray but she straightened her hair that way for a decade and now her hair is dull and lifeless
and she regrets doing it every day.
So think it over propably your hair will look great when its longer so maybe its beter to just go through the awkward stage instead.
Its a journey.
I'm not going to do it until my hair is at or near my desired length, does that make a difference to your opinion?
Also you have a lot of uncles and aunties :)
If you don't plan on doing it for years so it should be ok but please don't use a hot iron.
Yes ... I know ... but I know just a few of them better.
