Dad gets his first haircut in 20 years
Listen to all those peers, very passive aggressive i've seen these before and I always feel bad for the person going through it. If he truely likes it good for him. But I think if he wanted to look that way he would have gotten his hairs trimmed previous to this. Just my opinion, thanks for sharing
Yes, I was told about this one, it is on the "Welcome Screen" for those people who still use AOL....
... and, of course, I think it was mentioned as a gentle "hint"...
.... I like the "before" look, but of course, the audience didn't..

The Spaf Man
Hideous propoganda. I hate this type of thing. It is disingenuous. Dress him in the sme outfit as before, or use the new outfit before he got the cut and see if he did not look just as suave. Now he's just another moke. As for being more handsome. Nope, he's just the same dude with a lookalike style. One more word....."Feh!"
This is my general comment regarding haircut shows:
Because longhaired men and shorthaired men are viewed as being in different social groups, such shows are abusive. They are like wiping white polish on the face of a black man and then getting people to say how much better he looks.
Just because they find someone who will appear on TV does not justify such a skit. Some people will do almost anything to get on television.
The driving energy force behind these shows is putting down our social group. It is not merely fashion-choice driven. The proof in this assertion rests with the situation that women are almost never used in these skits. Women are not seen as being in a different social group if their hair changes from long to short. When the payback is merely one of fashion, there lacks the blood lust that fuels putting down a social group.
If they wanted to use men just to make grooming points, they could take longhaired men and rework their hair but such that it remains long. You will almost never, if ever, see this happen. As I said, the payback is disrespecting a social group, and if the man remains a longhair, the excitement of putting down a social group is lost.
Mild as these skits may at first appear, their effect is to spread hate. Somewhere, some adult who sees it will take it as encouragement to abuse a son or other young relative who is longhaired. Somewhere it will encourage a school or an employer to discriminate against a longhaired student or employee.
Such skits are hate speech directed specifically at us. Don't believe for a minute that they are not.

I AGREE!
I agree entirely with an additition: what about kids?
This is not the one and only TV-show which says A MAN HAS TO CUT HIS HAIR this view is crazily widespread and kids and teens learn to believe in that from early childhood.
If it continues the situation will never change.
Actually, Bill, they DO make plenty of shows like this with women victims. The key is that the hair stylists are in the hair CUTTING business, they can't really stick a yard of hair on, despite extensions, and major changes make better TV.
That said, I hate this kind of thing no matter who goes under the scissors.
Well, if the guy wanted to get his hair cut, that's his business, but what bothered me more than the show and the reactions of his girlfriend was the comments on the article on AOL.
Men, be men and look like men...
Women don't want men to look unkempt and scruffy...
Et Cetera
There are several social groups within the long hair community - some are called metal heads and some are called hippies - and I don't even know all the names - but to insult men who want to have long hair is wrong - prejudiced - and offensive.
Of course, the world is full of bold people who think they have the right opinion when they can respond on line...
Also what was most sickening was the attitude from Rachael. As a programme anchor she should be more neutral rather than gushing around with " Oh you look so hot!"
Absolutely hate that stuff!
It's as if saying.... you are not good enough! Change your clothes, cut your hair, shave your beard... TADA! Brand new, BETTER version of yourslef! Get out there and conquer the world.
Makes me really irritated, really.
