I was given a compliment today. A gentleman in his 30s said he liked my tail and may well let his hair grow as well. His girlfriend just smiled, and said "I dare you to do it."
Cool, I hope he does.....
You're right! "Must be somethin' in the air.":
Hopefully he win out over her.
Hi Jason,
First of all, I am surprised you aren't posting here more often about compliments! You have hair worthy of constant compliments my friend! I sure hope that guy lets his hair grow! Her statement would have solidified my resolve! Thanks for sharing this cool story!
Ted
Jason has got the good looks to go with his hair...
I would concur with this Fitz!
Ted
Fitz and Ted, Thank you for the compliments. t never hurts to hear such. Just don't wanna get a big head about it. (Trust me. If you saw me in the morning, you might think differently. I look like a Scot berserker. Give me a Claymore and I'll cleave my enemies in twain.) As for the Girlfriends statement of a dare. My take. judging form body language was that she supported the idea and the "dare" was a way of chiding him for NOT growing it out. Might be wrong. but I saw the positive
in the encounter. She smiled at me as well as her boyfriend.
Much obliged, Jason! I would venture to guess you look just fine as a Scot berserker! As far as the Claymore, I'll pass! I will say, however, that the longer my hair gets I am looking stranger and stranger in the morning!
I hope you're correct in seeing the positive in the encounter! Keep looking swell friend!
Ted
I think you are on to something here. When someone says "I dare you," they are saying they WANT you to do it, but have doubts that you actually will. As in saying to a buddy, "I dare you to go talk to that pretty girl across the room." So I think it's probable that she wanted to see him do it but expressed it that way because she didn't think he'd follow through without a nudge from her.
Had she phased it, "How dare you," that would have been a whole different story!
Chris
Maybe it's the chill in the air that has guys thinking about it :)

I hope he takes the dare and shows her... i was talking to a guy the other day about my hair - he said he wanted to do the same thing a number of times = as he said it, his wife walked past and said "no way". I looked at him and he shrugged. Sometimes I wonder why men allow women to have so much say... equal rights and liberation and all that - guess it's still not quite equal.
Hi
A most interesting comment: "something must is in the air." I can almost feel the same and have been since the end of the Summer, at least in the area where I live. All of a sudden and unlike I have ever known before, more and more men have long hair......or at least it looks as if they are growing it this way on purpose. (Ratio-wise of course, full blown long hair on guys is very small but still, the numbers appear to definately be climbing!!!) And then there is another style which is some variation of a Pompadour-Undercut. This one is suddenly beginning to take off.
Lastly, the Buzz Cut which has been "the Cut of the masses" for 20+ years is vanishing quickly from the lime-light. Can you believe? I am amazed! It is the longish-long now on one end, and the long on top w/short sides. These two are winning out.
Kind of exciting actually.
I am really happy for you that you were givin a compliment on your own long hair. Great news! :-)
Justin~
