Hey guys, long time no see! :)
4 months have really gone extremely quick this time around, and I can honestly say that having already gone through that first year in 2013, being all impatient and restless, counting every single quarter of an inch of hair... all that has really made this time around a breeze! :)
If you will check out my pics and video blog update on youtube, you will notice that I have been listening to Jason and actually trimming the back of my hair regularly, myself, nonetheless!
I'm still getting the hang of it, but for the time being, it almost gives me more peace of mind, knowing how great it will look when it's all at one length at just the jawline, and how after the first 1.5 years or so, I can simply let it grow and not worry about it again.
Saw Fitz' thread here about that back of the neck frizzy hair, and I really am of the opinion that shaving and trimming it all nicely really gives a nice overall feel, and helps with you feeling good about yourself. I know I do :)
Thanks for checking out the video and pics, and Jason, if you have any tips for me on trimming that backside of the head while the hair is still short, I would love to read, see and hear all about it, brother!
Peace out,
Raul.
Hey Raul,
Once again I'm envious of that thick hair you're sporting and how cool that you'll be trying the same route I took to long hair!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I thought I would share 16 photos of my journey starting from February 2004, the month after my butchering, to November 2005. These are photos that do not currently appear on my blog. I thought they would demonstrate the steps I took to let the front and top catch up to the back. Note that I did allow the back to get a little length as time went on.
Wow man, what a difference in 4 months! That is great! I think at some point, I'm going to shave the funky neck hairs as well, and potentially the same funky ones above my ears, but I'm going to wait until I get more length to determine the best way to go about it.
I'm loving the videos too, the VLOG is great, keep up the good work!

Hi Raul
Indeed, the time does go fast and those small 1/2" per month lengths really make a big difference. From a shaved head of only 4 months ago, what you have right now is actually quite astonishing. At least this time around you know so much of what to expect. Great going so far. :-)
Sorry I can not leave comments to videos, but I oppose the new You Tube Google+ thing and will have no part of it nor allow myself to be herded into something with such a bad reputation. I desire no part of it. Am currently looking into websites as the best option in my case. People at times do puzzle me a whole lot. Unhappy with something, but rather than take a stand, they accept whatever is thrown at them and merely grumble about it.
Take care Raul. All the best-
Justin~
Thanks for your post and for your YT vids, you are doing great for only 4 months! I also just had someone shave off my frizzy neck hairs, (they grow uneven.) It's been a little warmer, so I wore a ponytail today for the first time in a while...

Hi Raul,
I have to say your hair is making a marvelous return to glory even though you have a ways to go before you can consider it long again. At least you've been there before so you know what to expect on that time line.I feel your taking the correct approach this time so when all is said and done you'll once again achieve a gorgeous mane my friend :) Cheers

Maybe pretty soon you can replace your buzzed head avatar. ;-)
Hi Raul,
Looking very good my friend! It looks like the trimming along the way is working well for you! I kind of wish I would have done this. Now I am getting a seious V forming in the back. Not sure what I want to do yet. May have to get it evened out.
I can't wait to see your 1 year update man! Just let it grow my friend and your patience shall be rewarded! I have to check out your new video!
Ted
Four months feel like an eternity but afterwards its nothing.
Sense of time is strange and great VLog too, keep it up.

Cheers to you in your continued long hair growing journey, which continues to go very well indeed. Just keep on doing what you are doing, and I agree with you and Jason that the one length look is best.
I look forward to seeing your continued progress over the next year!
Keep it growing,
David
Great update man thanks for sharing,
Howdy Raul - so great to see you back on track with passion & zest - & your hair so healthy with vigour - yes = long hair happens as we live our lives & before you know it its long - I'm from the no cut / no trim 'school-of-thought' preferring some natural layering ... the 2 most important qualities / ingredients needed / required are 1.) Passion / want & desire for long hair & 2.) Patience: ( full-stop ) ... because with out these 2 ingredients = the journey is near nigh impossible ... much peace 2 you my friend cheers CEM. :0)
Thanks for the comments and effort put into them everybody (anda special thanks to you, Jason, for those great, informative pics, I appreciate it).
Unfortunately, I have been busy all last week, and will be the rest of this week, so I will assure you I read all commens and greatly apprciate them!
On my way, and they better get ready, cause this longhair is coming back! =)
