How do I grow long hair properly lol? This is me currently. Any advice?
Hey Ryan,
Welcome to MLHH! It's really all up to you, whether or not you wanna just let your hair grow out or if you wanna trim it while growing. I am currently nearing 10 month of growing my hair out from a buzzcut and i've gotta tell you that my hair looked really weird inbetween stages, it still looks silly today but it's slowly starting to look nicer.
Here's a picture for you to have an idea of what 10 months of hairgrowth and no trimmimg may look like.
Very easy really, don't use scissors, clippers or a razor! There is plenty here about growing out, there will be moments when you worry about how it looks and what others say; the awkward stage will beset you.
Just ignore comments, the lows and look forward to success. Come back to show your progress and encouragement.
Good luck
Hey Dude, welcome! For the best results you should...
1. Be Patient
2. Learn the products and habits to keep your hair healthy
3. Be Patient
4. Be prepared to have funny looking hair for at least a year and a half.
5. Be Patient
6. Be Patient
Maybe your seeing a pattern now lol! I'm not a patient person so this journey has been tough for me...but if your a patient type then it may be easier! My hair was slightly longer than yours when I started, I just posted my 15 month update today. Good luck!

I really think you would look so great with long hair my friend! Just let it grow and see what it looks like! I would definitely agree that a lot of patience will come in handy though! Your hair looks to have nice color and texture. Do you have a goal length? Welcome to the board and please be well!

I only got to see the movie a few days ago. The movie itself was amazing, the best of the three Hobbit films by far in my opinion but I was also blown away by the hair on just about all the characters, male and female. Of the six movies, I liked the hair best in this one. Save for a few of the hobbits, everyone that could grow hair had it long! Sucks to be an Orc!
I loved how I felt so immersed in the world particularly by watching it in 3D. Probably most have already seen it but if you haven't, just go for the hair if nothing else! I was even more committed to never cutting my hair ever after this experience.
There were many scenes with elves who have my favorite Lord of the Rings hair. I enjoyed seeing many unnamed elf characters who all sported very interesting braided styles. I would love to have some of these put in my hair some day.
Here are a few of the main characters who impressed me with their hair. The elven King Thranduil:

The elf Elrond shown here from an earlier film. What's nice about his portrayal is that his hair still looks awesome despite his high hairline. Apparently elves aren't immune from such things! The scene where he battled the Nine was amazing.

The elf Tauriel has my favorite hair of any character. I love the styling of it too:

Galadriel's hair was as beautiful as ever. I loved the scene where she battled Sauron.
