It's been about 16 months since my last haircut. Been taking Biotin since late October. I've saw a pretty good growth spurt in December, but it has slowed down. Mostly I've seen quite a bit less hair falling out in the shower. I used to plug the drain up after every shower, now practically nothing. It seems to get straighter as it grows.

Actually it's been more like 17 months since my last haircut

Sorry, posted wrong picture
Congratulations on your progress, Mike. I am glad to hear you are seeing good results - less hair in that shower drain! with the use of the Biotin. I've been using Biotin for quite a while, too - and I rarely see hair in my comb, in the shower or anywhere - it seems to really make the roots stronger. I also have seen new growth on the top of my head where my hair is thin. So, I hope you will soon see some new sprouts up there, too. It's exciting to know something works.
I have also seen new growth on top. I have a fair amount of new growth about 2-3 inches long
Way to go Mike, you are really looking great..
I see nice fast growth... I hope I can do as well on Biotin....
Keep it growin' and flowin' downward....

Coming along great!!!
This is a great encouragement for me, also with very grey hair. I am taking multi-vitamins and a daily dose of biotin. The bottle mentions that the recommended daily dose is 1 tablet of 300mg, so I stick to that.
I find Biotin is great for the skin, as I had a bad bout of psoriasis on the hands and feet about 7 years ago. Learning to sail and often getting wet in the sea did my skin a lot of good, and I find the Biotin gets things that much better.
For me, it's too early to say what effect it's having on my hair, but it does feel softer and more pleasant to touch and sweep back with my hands. I'll send an update photo in 3 months time.
You look to be doing very well with your "hair farming". Keep it growin'...

Thanks Anthony. I read your blog. I too despised getting haircuts as a kid. I was forced to get what was called at the time a "crew cut" I always wanted to let my hair grow but was always pressured to get it cut. When I was older I tried to comb it so that it looked short, but it never worked. Over the years I have been told how femenin it is to have long hair. I have finally put my foot down and when I'm told I need a haircut I simply ignore the wisecracks. It's fun to see other men my age (59) who feel the same as me.
Thanks for your kind words. I have to admit that I was cutting my hair for many years long after the times in my life when short hair was either mandatory or the "done thing" for boys.
One thing I love about this forum is that most longhair men are unselfconscious about it and just lead normal lives. I sometimes think about the "feminine" aspect, and we should remember that Carl Gustav Jung said that it was essential for our health to accept an reconciliation of "animus" and "anima" within each of us. In men, we do well to cultivate our intuition, gentleness, tenderness and softness. In terms of personality, I find my wife more "masculine" than I am - and I have always done boyish things like climbing trees, going fishing and sailing and doing woodwork. My own desire to have long hair is a part of this self image of softness and gentleness. I don't care if anyone thinks I look feminine. At the same time, I'm getting on in years and I don't think anyone would take me for a lady, even with hair trailing on the ground behind me!
Some people can react by being "camp". That's not my style, but I'm not afraid of not living for power and money, competition and dominance - but rather for the finer things of life. I saw a thread on this forum about how wives and girlfriends take long hair on a man. One word is "conventional" and the way women can be conformists. They respect us in the end for sticking to our guns and knowing what we want in life.
With my own wife, I had the experience with the "hoodie", a garment I love wearing even though it is associated with young men who do bad deeds. She hated the hoodie and wanted me to stop wearing it. Now she buys them for me and likes to give me something nice.
Sticking with what we have decided, in a question that does no harm to others, is our "masculine" side. I make it a point of honour to keep the hair growing - now that I have made the decision.
