Our civil war group had it's annual Lincoln Brunch to celebrate
the birthday of Abraham Lincoln.
And as usual I had the longest hair in the place.
My hair is even longer than all the women in the place.
I'm really enjoying going to these things and being the guy with the longest hair in the place. And in all the years i've been
involved in the civil war group i've still never gotten a single
complaint about my hair.
This is the 14th year we've had the Lincoln Brunch.
Pretty cool! I know that great feeling, because I often have the longest beard in a place. Yeah, even longer than any of the women's. [wink]
There was little if any bigotry against longhaired men back in the 1860s, so such an attitude would be out of period, I would think. Just make sure you don't shed at any of the luncheons. If someone finds a really long hair in their soup, they will know it is yours!

I think your Lincoln Brunch was a tad early, but then you may have
wanted it on a weekend.
It had to be on a weekend considering the distance some have
to travel.

I am sure that Lincoln would have been totally astonished had he ever known how he would be remembered. Glad you had such a great time at this 14th brunch and congratulations for having the longest hair of anyone attending! :-)

Thank you. There is the endless debate about what would
have happened had Lincoln lived to complete his term.
Good job. To keep on topic have you ever tried colorizing that
famous, or infamous, Civil War veteran, Indian fighter and "long
hair" Custer?
Never have. I'll look him up.
Justin~

Here's the obverse side of a coin my father gave me years ago. I think his dad won it for an essay he wrote. The Font features Lincoln's profile.
