I am thinking this will probably be the last month where my hair will be able to remain in this style, I may be able to pull off one more month maybe two before the hair blocks my vision and I must adapt. 4 month update everyone, hope all is well.
Thanks for the update. It's coming along nicely. I think you could still sport the bangs for several more months at least. All you would need to do to keep them out of your eyes is sweep theme to the side a little.
Chris
Thanks, I am planning to try and keep them as long as possible, thanks for the idea.
We seem only to be a fraction of an inch different.
Were you buzz cutting before deciding to grow your hair? You might consider introducing a parting at some point - for you to decide where. You have smooth straight hair like mine except the curly bits at the back.
As people advise me, just let it grow naturally, and don't be tempted to cut anything (unless you want a particular style). As I said last night to my wife, I don't care about any unevenness, and I will not cut anything until all my hair is beyond ponytail length. Only then I might perhaps trim the longest layer by very little.
Would you like to say what you want to achieve, or are you not yet decided?

I buzzed it right before growing I have typically had a pretty "normal" haircut in the sense that it was probably about an inch shorter than my hair is currently. This is my third attempt growing it out and this time I will not fail. I think the back of my hair swoops in that way due to the hair coming in contact with my neck, I do believe it is also straight back there, only time will tell. I will not trim any of it just continuing to let it grow. The reason I do not have a goal length is because in the past I believe this grew impatience in me and caused me to cut it. I am just taking it day by day, however, I do want it to be very long, meaning it will be many many years before I would consider cutting it.
Keep up the growing on your end as well,

You have hit something on the head - patience and taking it day by day. Every stage of this adventure is a gem in itself and does wonders for our self-esteem.
You have a good "philosophy". Hair-growing is about the only thing we can't rush. Farmers can put stuff on crops to make them grow faster. Some people grow more than the standard 1/2 inch per month, but apart from that, we just have to go along with it. We enjoy the stages as much as the result we might desire.
Keep going. As we say in England - Keep calm and carry on.

Nice bro. You will have to adapt to it as it grows. Some periods will be tough. Not much you can do but break out the hat and wait it out.
I am as ready as I can be for the unmanageable hair periods, I saw that you made it past a year and it was looking great. This site definitely helps me keep up the motivation.
Hi Seminole,
Your hair is coming along very nice! Yes, you will probably have to start combing it to the sides soon. But you have great hair to grow long! Great progress for 4 months my friend! Please keep us updated and take care!
Ted
Thanks Ted, I will do that for sure, haven't had a new hairstyle in years, this is going to be interesting.
Thanks for sharing.. It's hard to believe it was just 4 months... looking great... onward and downward!

Feels like a long time ago that I decided to grow hair, but I guess time goes slow when you want something. Looking back I can see the 4 months went quickly though truely. Take care
I am lucky. My hair was growing for four months without my having decided to grow it. I just neglected to cut it. The catalyst came when my wife suggested a haircut - and I just said "no" and told her I was going for long hair.
So, in a way, that gave me a four-month start. My own attitude is to live it day by day. Enjoy even the awkward phase as it happens. For the rest, look after your hair - and just forget it and let it do its own thing.
Time goes quickly enough, too quickly, and every half-inch gives more thickness and sensation. I seem to be at about six months now, as I have forgotten exactly when I last cut it. They say you forget traumatic experiences!!!

My hair blocks my vision every day and I love it. I like to feel my hair on my back, my shoulders, my face. You're gonna love it.
As far as your hair goes, you have some potential there. The texture looks awesome.
I like your glasses too ;)
Thanks much for the kind words! I am loving feeling it touch the back of my neck and shoulders (when I am sitting in the right position) very unusual feelings for me, but I am loving it and I know the more it grows the more I am going to love it. This is just the start.
Take care,
Seminole
Wow 4 months already!? Time sure flies...you've made a lot of progress since your first post. I did wear my hair in a similiar style...I think it was probably about 6 or 7 months for me when I it got too long to stay out of my eyes.
Keep it up!
