Hey, I was surfing around and I found this site. I was just figuring that someone could help me with my long hair problem. My hair is almost to my shoulders in back and it has a upward curl. I haven't had a trim for almost a year and I was wondering if i did get my hair trimmed a little bit, could that fix my problem? I am trying to grow it past my shoulder blades. So could that fix it? Any advice would be most appreciated.

Just take a round brush to hold your hair how you want whn its almost dry and use a blow dryer. Voila.
Many a people have made the same inquiry and have recieved countless solutions varying from towel raping your neck after a shower(where the hair flips)to heat devices and even trims, if my memory serves me well. I suggest you comb through the archives, youll most likely find some very in-depth answers i could not otherwise supply. Good luck!
The probable reason your hair is curling upwards at that length is that every time you walk a step or move your head, your shoulders are pushing the end of each hair upwards.
The best solution is to wait a few months until it is long enough for this not to happen- trimming it will only mean that this particularly awkward phase lasts longer than it otherwise would.
In the meantime, you can try a variety of solutions- different ways of brushing, some sort of gel, spray etc might help if you want to use that sort of thing, otherwise, that old faithful which usually solves al lproblems eventually; TIME
Good luck
