I got no replies last time, and now the post is way down the board so I am posting this again.
I have been washing my hair every other day with Pantene Pro V + conditioner. After washing I apply Infusium 23 leave in conditioner. I think I am going to start shampooing only once a week,so my question is this, how often should I wash it out with just plain cool water? Every day? Also should I use the Infusium23 after washing with plain water,or should I only use it after shampooing? I was also wondering how much shampoo I should be using,I have been putting a small amount into my hand(about the size of a nickel)rubbing my hands together then washing. Is this too much, too little? Also how much of the Infusium should I use? I usually use quite a bit of it,not enough to totally saturate all my hair, but still enough to know I'm putting it in.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Well, your HAIR CARE depends on the type of hair you have.
Some people cannot go a whole week without shampooing while
others can.
AMOUNT OF shampoo? I've read you should use just enough to clean but
not to make a lather.
Never had much luck with Pantene or Infusium. Did you ever try Aussie
products? Sometimes the less expensive stuff works even better!
I haven't tried Aussie yet,but have heard good things. Would it be best to get a shampoo with conditioner in it,or use a separate conditioner?
You should most definitely use a separate conditioner and also, shampoo less frequently, unless you find your hair to be very oily. Once a week is fine for me. On the days you do not shampoo (deep clean), you should condition or if you do not have the time, simply rinse with water (preferably cool). This advice was given to me at somepoint by others on this same board when i made a similar inquiry to yours. My hair has ever sinse been feeling and looking better than ever. Its not longer as dry, except for after shampooing, and believe it or not, it looks and feels healthier than ever and isnt brital anymore. Im not sure if the results are all directly linked to my changing of washing habits though, ive changed a lot sinse then, stuff like instead of blow drying my hair, i pat dry it. Good Luck! ~_^
I think that you aren't getting many replies because this has been asked and answered over and over (check earlier post and archives).
It's pretty well accepted that Pantene is not worth buying because it along with other poos are basically soap...which isn't real great for your hair.
Only you can determine how much is enough while you are washing and conditioning your hair, but don't use products that claim to be both a shampoo and conditioner in one bottle. If you can answer the question about how one substance can on one hand strip the dirt and oils out of your hair and at the same time unstrip your hair by conditioning it then let us know.
You can but you don't have to shampoo every day. You can condition every day but products like Pantene will build up in your hair after awhile. If you shampoo then you definately should condition afterwards. Cool water is best to keep from stripping more oils out but can be more difficult to do on a cold morning.
Coat away with the conditioner, excess will be washed away.
