At work yesterday I got something in my hair that I tought might be rubber cement, but I cannot get it out and now it is hard as a rock. I don't know if someone is playing a prank on me or not, but if I cannot get it out I will have to cut it out. I have heavy black hair that is mid back just where I want it, the glue/chuck of grap is on the side below my ear. If I have to get it out, my hair will look like a bob, unless I get even more cut. What can I do.
Get someBuddy to examine it closely...
If they can figure out WHAT it is, there
are products in the hardware section
of stores that will dissolve glues, tars, gum, etc.
TRY to get it out before you cut!
I had a friend come over and cut it out/off, &$#!@# My beautiful long hair is now gone. Whatever was in my hair would not budge and when I turned my head it pulled, I did'nt really have a choice.
Grow it back!!!!
Listen to LucksKind. There are things that can thin out glues and such. Make every effort you can to dissolve it before deciding on the extreme. My heart and prayers go out to you, bro! GOOD LUCK and keep us posted on the situation. PEACE!!!!!
You can safely use on your hair almost any of the cleaners or solvents that advertise using orange oil as the main ingredient.
One name brand that comes to mind (that you can find in Walmart or Home Depot in the US, for example) is De-Solv-It.
Just let it sit for awhile to loosen up whatever it is. Gently blot the goo with an old towel to soak it up. You might need several applications, but it will work. Just wash and condition your hair as usual afterwards to remove any residue.
