I have come to this board from time to time for inspiration while growing my hair out. I am currently in my second year of medical but decided shortly into my first year that I was finally going to grow out my hair as I might not find another opportunity for a while. I had wanted to for years but never had the guts to go through with it, but decided to suck it up this time around. In order to try look more professional for the few activities we have where we see patients in the first and second year I trimmed the back routinely but the awkward stage was still a bit rough and I took a little flack for my hair. My goal was to have it long enough to tie into a low ponytail by the start of June when i will being to see patients full time and I am happy to say I have achieved my goal, or will by then as my bangs still fall out easily when tied back low but should hold well with another inch or so. Here is a picture, not very good quality as my camera phone is awful. Its great to finally reach a goal after 18+ months of waiting and slogging through bad hair days.
Anyway I just wanted to post as a thanks to those who do routinely. I have read a lot of posts on this site when I wanted to cut or had trouble dealing with my hair. Thanks and keep going. Also Sorry if I don't respond as I get busy, but I do plan to keep growing, though not to any extreme lengths, maybe another 6 inches or so and I probably will wear a ponytail most of the time, for professional and practical considerations while at the hospital but also I am a fan of the look on me personally. Good luck all.
