I wanted to know if Biotin Supplements work and if it's safe and worth the money? If I do take it should I take the 5000 mcg one or 1000 mcg one since it's my first time taking it. I found one brand I was interested in at Amazon and not sure if anyone tried this or heard of it. Here is links

I have been using Biotin of the GNC brand (bought in England but made in the USA) since about January this year, one a day, 300µg. I don't know how that corresponds with your brands, but 300µg is the recommended dose on the jar.
Some people swear by it. I have no way of telling what difference it made for me, but my hair is growing rather well and is nice and thick for middle-aged grey hair. What I do read here and there is that you should never go over the daily dose except on prescription from a doctor. You can get skin problems if you overdose over a long period of time.
I'm sober about this. It couldn't do any harm at the correct daily dose. I would be interested in reading opinions of those with more knowledge and experience.

My blog
I've been taking Biotin since November of last year. I'm not sure if it's making my hair grow faster but I am definitely seeing new hair growth. I have to tame a cowlick daily. It's getting better as the new growth is about 3" long. Also I've had an itchy rash on my arms for several years that the doctor keeps giving me cream for and the rash is now gone. Also I have non diabetic neuropathy and the pain is much better since taking the Biotin. I went to 4 different doctors regarding the foot pain and nothing the doctors suggested has helped. I started taking 1000mcg and worked up to 5000mcg. I went off the Biotin for several days and the foot pain came back. I still have numbness in my feet but 80% of the pain is gone.
Yes. I believe they do work. Makes hair stronger. I've seen some new hair growth - my hair is thin on top - not huge but some... but, it does not make hair grow faster in my experience.
It probably does work. There is no "recommended dose," at least officially, since it is an unregulated supplement. I take the 5,000 daily.
I just started taking it in January, I am hoping...
It was really cheap at Puritan.com on sale..

I've taken them for years and they work quite well for me. My hair/nails grow like weeds. I use 1000mcg, Spring Valley brand.
