Hey guys, it's been a very long time since i was last on this site, I nearly forgot about it. I almost even forgot about my hair haha :D
anyway since I was last on in november I was barely starting out, since then my hair has grown 3 inches so it is about 4 inches long at the moment the way my hair sits up like in the photo it sort of hides it's true length. I've never had my hair this long before :)
people like to tell me i have great hair but personally I'm really annoyed by the curls, I know it will straighten out a bit when longer due to the weight but is there any type of keratin treatment, or oil or leave in conditioner or shampoo etc. that I can use to make it straight(er) or at least slightly wavy?
at the moment I have no idea what i'm doing I just grab the first shampoo I come across and wash it maybe 2 times a week
It's good to be back
Thanks folks :)
Welcome back, Stickeelion. The quality of your hair is outstanding. I think you have a cool look now, and that it will only get better as your hair grows longer. Keep us posted!

Thank you :)
Hi Stickeelion,
Your hair is looking great my friend! I am happy you remembered to update us on your progress! Does your hair sit up like that even after you comb it? If you want to minimize the curls, I would recommend that you use shampoo and conditioner containing keratin. Also, if you comb your hair while it's drying it will straighten it somewhat. Of course, this depends on how curly your hair is. I like the curls myself, so probably wouldn't worry about it. I do think your hair will look great when it gets longer! Remember, you have never had your hair this long before! Please keep it growing!

Hey Ted, My hair sticks up like that almost all the time, even after i have combed it and i will definitely keep a look out for some good keratin shampoo and conditioner
Thank you :)
Glad you posted!
Welcome back.... your hair is looking cool.
..keep it growing!....

Thanks for the kind words :)
Hey Stickeelion,
Awesome Hair, dude!
Keep it growing; it'll soon be framing your face and cascading over your shoulders.
Raymond
Thanks Raymond, I can't wait :)
Hi there Stickeelion,
My advise is to enjoy your curls ("embrace" it, as the saying goes); but if you really get to a point where it starts to bug you too much, my next words of advise is to make sure you get yourself a good-quality shampoo AND separate conditioner (avoid those shampoos that say "Shampoo & Conditioner in one").
At your current hair length, adding an oil into your hair ends is not all that necessary -- when my hair was about at your length, for example, if I added even a tiny amount of oil, it would sometimes prematurely get too "greasy"... But as your hair gets significantly longer, beneficial oils really do work wonders -- adding weight to the hair, as well as helping to prevent split ends, smoothing out dry & frizzy hair, etc.
I hope my comments have helped!

Thanks Ken, are there any particular types/brands of shampoo and conditioner that you would recommend?
Well, there's a lot of good ones; but also some bad ones (LOL)....
In general: although I don't necessarily pursue strict all-organics, the more natural and mostly "organic", the better. Avoid super-cheap and/or super-harsh (loaded with a lot of chemicals) brands.
Here are some of my favorites that I've liked over the years:
1) Avalon Organics (my current favorite, the Lavender "flavor" being my pet favorite)
2) Ojon (outrageously expensive; but OMG, what a nice luxury!)
3) Nexxus (used to use it many years ago; but it's been awhile)
4) RedKen (don't even know if they make it anymore; but if you do find it, their products are excellent)
5) Suave (so damn cheap! But, surprisingly, very mild as I recall, not harsh)
6) others, such as "Aussie", and I can't remember what else...
7) Don't be afraid to experiment; but also, pay attention to reading the label of ingredients, and see what works best for YOU!!
