Hi all.
I've been growing out my hair for exactly five months now, and have been visiting this site frequently for inspiration. Just thought I'd say hello and contribute a bit to the community!
Hair wise, I started out with a 1/2 inch buzz on the sides and longer hair on top ( maybe 1.5 inches or so). My goal at the moment is somewhere between chin and shoulder length. I know a lot of members here are proponents of the "just let it grow" method, but I have gotten the back of my head trimmed a couple of times to avoid sporting too egregious of a mullet.

First of all: Welcome to MLHH!!!
Secondly: there's nothing wrong with your goal of achieving just chin-length or shoulder-length. Hey, we're all different, which is one of the great joys in life -- to be the individual we most wish to be on the outside, which best reflects who we feel we are on the inside!
It also looks like you have a great head of hair to work with, as well as you are already well on your way into the serious "hair-farming" phase... So, just keep up the good "work!" (LOL)

it looks like you are coming along just fine, there, JohnnyBoy! It looks like you have an awesomely thick head of hair... Enjoy! it does get weird when in the inbetween stage when there are various lengths, so you may feel more comfortable with trims - since your goal is a shorter version of long - you will acheive your goals soon enough and look real good doing it.
Be sure to give us an update every now and then...

First off, your hair is looking great! It looks like you've got good hair to work with. I know you're now thinking of a goal of shoulder length, but don't be surprised if you reach that goal and think you want it longer. :-) There are some advantages to longer, mostly due to being able to ponytail it.

Hey Johnny, looking good man! I think you were very close to where I started at the beginning with a side buzz and longer hair on top. Your hair looks good in the pic, it won't be long now until it starts getting crazy, make sure to enjoy it! I'll be looking forward to your future updates!
