"The ebb and flow of men's beard fashions may be guided by Darwinian selection, according to a new study."
BBC News - Beard trend is 'guided by evolution'
Interesting article, Damon, I always enjoy BBC reporting!
One of the things that's wonderful about MLHH is that most of us here are not too much into all of the various fashion trends -- what's "in" this year, is often declared "out" the next! But of course, on the other hand, it is also true that human nature for even the most individualistic among us might at least care what SOMEbody close to us may think about our appearance... even if it's just our mate telling us to go brush our teeth!
I love beards, as well as long hair -- and I always will. But I don't care about, nor need to know, if the world in general likes or dislikes my beard or long hair. I LIKE IT!!! Hey, it makes ME happy to have both; so hopefully the people that like to hang around me will either: 1) like my look too, or 2) at least put up with how I look (in spite of maybe not liking it - LOL)....
But again, it was an interesting read! (The little video wouldn't play for me, however, for whatever reason)

Yeah i read the article and didn't think much of it. The quality of BBC journalism has declined into often trivial propaganda by people who think the rest of us take them seriously. I couldn't care less for fashion. I outgrew having an image in my early 20's. I don't need to copy other people as I am an original and decided a long time ago to just be me. Beards are natural and manly and there will always be men wearing them regardless of fashion. And there will always be ladies who love bearded men too. And many guys who wear beards are not "hipsters".

Thanks for the comments, guys - but please don't shoot the messenger. I just thought it was an interesting article. :)
