Haven't gotten to communicate with you all as much as I would've liked to recently, due to the remodeling project I wrote about earlier. Then, on April 16th, my wife and I were in a horrific car wreck. I ended up with a crushed ankle and a four-day hospital stay. I'm at home just staying still these days. Pam was badly bruised, but is recovering slowly but surely. They might have to fuse my ankle
before I can walk again; we will have to see how it goes. I have some really bad days as well as some relatively good ones. I just trust that God knows much more than I do. The attached picture is from an afternoon right after my accident and surgery, when I ventured out onto the back porch and had my dog Chloe join me there.
My sincere get well wishes, OKCdude!
Glad to hear that, despite all the physical and emotional pain involved, you two escaped the accident with no severe injuries.
Hope you feel better soon, my friend.
Oh Steve! I am so sorry to hear of your accident! I thank God you all are okay and did not get seriously injured! I sincerely hope you are able to walk well again and that your wife recovers fully as well. Thanks for posting this photo with your cute doggie! I will keep you all in my thoughts for a speedy recovery! Godspeed my friends!
Ted
So sorry, man.
My recoveries have been like that. What I finally learned would get me out of the hole dug for me was to pick an activity level that I could even do on the bad days and do that level almost every day. Eventually had no bad days when it came to that activity, just good and average ones. So I upped the level of the activity a bit, just enough that I could still do it on bad days. Each week I'd ratchet it up a bit more, because I was getting better.
Doing it that way will let you see improvement from one week to the next, and it will free you from the aggravation of dwelling on the daily ups and downs.
Be strong. And I wish your end destination to be a full recovery!
Bill

This is awful, Steve. I am going to pray for your complete healing, so ankle fusion won't be necessary.

So sorry to hear. Looks like you have a great companion there looking out for you! Take care.
I am very sorry to hear of what happened! My mother in law was involved in a car accident that has led to her having a fused ankle and that was better for her than the way it was before that for sure. I hope all will be well for you, take care and keep me updated please.
Glad it wasn't any worse. Not really a dog person, but Chloe is a cute one. Glad to see she has long hair, LOL!
Have a speedy recovery the both of you! Here is a photo of an accident I was in in 2005.
How absolutely horrible that this happened to you and your wife. I am extremely sorry and wish both of you as rapid a recovery as possible.
I consider driving in the world of today to be the most dangerous I have ever witnessed in my entire life. Everywhere I go the drivers are almost like in an "out-of-control" state of mind. And, so many are on their beloved Cell Phones as they go, bullying everyone in their path.
Again, my best you and your wife for as quick a recovery as possible.
Justin~
Hello Steve,
I am sorry to hear that you had a bad car accident but on the positive side you will recover without any serious long term injuries. And a get well soon to your missus too. Hopefully your body heals up quickly and maybe use the time to catch up on some good movies and books whilst on the mend?
best,
Duncan
