Hi Guys
And so, at long last I know my growth rate. From Jan. 1st until April 30th 2-1/2" of hair growth was acquired. Kinda lucky I think for a Man looking ahead to 66 years of age. Oh, how wondrous are these "Golden Years." Hey, I am getting tired! LOL
Stats: 6' tall and 157lbs with all of the BLUBBER in my stomach! (OMG) Hair color when at a longer length does not display the white/gray as it did with a near Buzz. (Very enjoyable haircut btw.) With a "Buzz" however, it appeared like a short hair "Powered Wig!" Ha Ha Ha. :-) And for my present hair care? After washing I towel-dry, mess it all up and out the door I go. Worried about what other people will think? NEVER! Plans? Another update in several more months.
Justin~
(Guess this is my Football Pose? But wait........I don't own a Football and have never played the game. Well, life is short so perhaps I better start practicing for the "Big One" next Jan.)
What big one in January? The wild card playoffs? The divisional playoffs? The conference playoffs? (You do realize the Super Bowl is in February?)
No way.........not February. (I am hardly "Super" enough for that one.) More like the "Stupid Bowl" in January for me! Yup, now that one would be about my speed. Location? So far nobody can figure-it-out since I signed-up! LOL
Justin~
Hi Justin,
I am glad to see you growing again! I wish you well!
I still like to watch your hair videos on YT..
..but I like the music ones also...
All the best... The Spaf Man
Thanks Spaf Man. Glad you are still enjoying those old videos. Luckily since I made those back in 2008, a bunch of other guys have now made their own and there is much more Long Hair on YT today than ever before. Take care-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
What a fun update, and as always, you have the most wonderful sense of humour. Your hair is off to a great start, and with such an awesome growth rate, you should be able to achieve whatever length you desire. The important thing is to have fun during the process.
Speaking of football, your comment sure gave me a laugh, and in fact, I have never owned a football either, and have never had an interest in watching the game on TV. I guess I will always stick to golf any day.
Take care, and keep up the good work with the growing!
David
Hey David :-)
Glad you enjoyed the update and my insane sense of humor. LOL Yes, I'll have fun with this one for sure which is all part of my eventual plan.
Ha Ha Ha. I was laughing when I thought-up that little aside. Golf is the "Gentlemans Sport" for sure. No tantrums in that game that I have ever seen with the players.
Thanks so much David and we will just see what happens by the next up-date. All the best-
Justin~
Actually there are tantrums in Golf. If the players are tied at the end of the tournament, and spectators make noise during that critical shot, you'll see the player throw a temper tantrum.
LOL.........leave it to times such as this in Golf.
Actually the worst "tantrums" of all I see daily are the automobile drivers of today. OMG, just unreal and with out-of-control attitudes.
J~
....to shaggy !!
Lookin' good my friend. Personally I like the salt/pepper, gray/white look.
Hey Walter! :-)
Thanks so much for the compliment. Actually I rather like the Salt and Pepper look but just so funny that when my hair is short it shows up very well. Now with several inches it hides-out behind to darker ones.
Hope all has been well with you Walter and that you are having much fun in all that you do and giving those tours. Take care and all the best-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Wow, your shaggy hair looks very cool but I never knew you had cut it so short
recently.Still it gave you the opportunity to really determine your hair growth rate as I do that in between my henna treatments which run every eight weeks give or take.Obviously the new growth doesn't have the henna red color so it "marks" the extact amount of new growth for me so I know my hair is still growing at least :) Funny how the length seems to remain the same in spite of that so I figure it's my terminal length.
Glad your doing well otherwise and great for being a young 66! Don't worry too much about the stomach blubber as I seem to have the same problem if I were to gain any weight. Seems that's the first place it goes! Lol.' Cheers my friend.
Mârk
Hi Mark
Indeed, it DID give me a chance to know my growth rate and it was quite a surprise to say the least considering 66 is in sight down the road. I am not really all that concerned about the Gray/White or whatever this color is I see with a Buzz cut or shorter Haircuts. I suppose I could give Henna a try but it would be just my luck to end up looking like a "HEN!" So I'll go all natural and see what happens.
As for the Spare Tire, I doubt you will ever have any issues with that one so I would not give it an ounce of worry. Take care-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Man, you're looking splendid for 66! Wonderful hair growth progress I must say! Most of us seem to get that mysterious "spare tire" thing! I know I have one! I sure hope you grow your hair long again as I really liked that! But I do agree with you about what others think! I just think of Dr. Suess! I'm more of a Baseball fan. But I do like your Football pose!
Please be well my friend! Looking forward to your next update!
Ted
Hi Ted
Well, not a full 66 quite yet. It will be official in August. LOL
How well I know but I am very lucky so far in having a deflated/flat if such there be a term for mine. Looks bigger in the photo cause of my "Stupid Bowl" pose and the loose shirt "enhancing(?)" the tire. Ha Ha Ha.
Well, maybe Shoulder Length would be a nice goal for now. More of a Baseball fan are you? Hmmmm, maybe after the big "Play-off" I should try that one. So far any ball that comes my way I have missed, but when a kid I did bounce a bean up in the air, and on the way back down smacked it with my "Plastic" Goo-Goo Toy Store Bat. Got a "Home Run" which meant running across the street in the 50's with the game all we kids used to play called "Hit the Bat."
Thank you Ted and I hope that you are doing better than can be expected right now and that a transplant will soon be available.
Take care-
Justin~
Justin,
Good to see you updating with a picture of your ever-cheerful self! I believe your carefree philosophy on life has kept you looking youthful even into your 60's. The bitter, judgemental, types always seem to age faster. All that stress from worrying about what others think and do.
-Dan H.
Hi Dan and nice hearing from you. OMG, how I hear you about all of the people living their life for everyone else and being so stressed-out because of it. It must be so awful to fall into this trap. All the best-
Justin~
\I'm not a football guy, either... HA!
You are a fun guy - I enjoyed this post. I would never have dreamed from your picture that you are the age you are... young as you feel in your head - you are living proof... and you look young, too.
I always enjoy your posts - you encourage us in many ways - but it is so good to read your own personal progress instead.
Congratulations on all you've attained...
Fitz
Hey Fitz! Thank you very much for the super kind words. Very much appreciated.
Fun? Well, um, er, um, a-hum.......perhaps more towards "crazy" I think? LOL But, I don't care and this is me. Way more fun (and healthy) to just be oneself and not "pretend" to be like someone else.
I can remember the night they put me in Bellevue. When I got up the next AM, there was not a single person left in the building so I simply walked out the front door. I have always wondered why a place like that was suddenly abandoned just after I got there. (Oh yes, someone told me that they thought that my "Pink Elephant Outfit" may have frightened everyone away.) Guess I will never know. LOL
Take care Fitz and have a great weekend! :-)
Justin~
Looking great Justin!
No Football? Well, you've tackled 4 months of hair growth nicely.
- Oren
Hi Oren and I hope all has been well with you. Great long hair and beard you have for sure. Congratulations! :-)
Nope, no Football for me. Actually, there is one ball I do need to get, and that is a "Magic 8 Ball" to tell me and advise me on everything. Since my brains fell-out I "think(?)" I could really use one of those. Easy sport for an "elder" as well. Just rotate in the palm of the hand. LOL :-)
All the best-
Justin~
The 20 answers inside a Magic 8 Ball are:
It is certain It is decidedly so Without a doubt Yes definitely You may rely on it As I see it, yes Most likely Outlook good Yes Signs point to yes Reply hazy try again Ask again later Better not tell you now Cannot predict now Concentrate and ask again Don't count on it My reply is no My sources say no Outlook not so good Very doubtful
Ten of the possible answers are Positive(), five are Negative (), and five are Neutral(). Using the coupon collector's problem in probability theory, it can be shown that it takes, on average, 72 outcomes of the Magic 8 Ball for all 20 of its answers to appear at least once.[2]
couldn't resist - source of all truth... Wikipedia!
Great to "see' ya, Justin. Your hair looks good. You are having better luck than I in retaining color. More goes white at every rurn. I will miss the copper and Auburn when it is all gone. just something us aging gingers must come to grips with. But the length (mid back) shall remain.
Hey "RKtect!" :-)
Thanks and so far I am not disappointing with my hair growth. But for color: when very short, my hair looks White/gray......almost like some kind of powered dust. Then when longer, all of those hairs seem to vanish. I can assure you however that they "are" still present. Little has changed in this regard over the last 10 years as far as I can tell.
Yes, as we get along in years we have to adapt. Funny how that works, isn't it. In our minds we still feel as we did in our 20's.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Justin~
Hi Justin, I didn't realize you were returning to longhairdom... I hope you get the chance to try many fun hair styles :)
-Tommy
Hey Tommy! :-)
Yes indeed. I am planing on all kinds of fun looks on my way back. (Not as long as it was years ago however.) I sure wouldn't mind having what you do right now however.
Take care
Justin~
You are in pretty good shape for a 66 year old man. I wouldn't have guessed you are this old at all. Anyways, good to see you going back to long hair. May it last until we die.
I never imagined you were that age! You must have a very full and active life - a great encouragement for me to keep going with cycling and sailing and all the outdoor things I love.
Today, we have high winds in Europe, and I have been in the garden securing my young trees, one a Canadian maple and another with lovely yellow flowers. I had a lot of knots to comb out of my hair one I got back into the house.
You have almost no grey hair!
Well, keep going and keep us posted about your exciting life...
Anthony
