Hey guys!
Long time no post but I'm glad to be back. For those who remember, my hair got quite a dramatic growth rate over the course of winter but ever since my last update I haven't noticed much of a change, but I've noticed my hair has felt a lot thicker. While it wasn't much of a problem before, I've had quite a struggle with it when loose. I suppose we all have bad hair days once in a while but I've had the 'lion mane' look for more times than what I would've wanted to recently. I've resorted to braiding it regularly to keep it tame but it takes quite a bit of my time and being honest I don't really like the braid look on me. I've also felt as if it has gotten a bit dryer but I'm assuming that due to the weather. I'll add a picture of my hair for you guys to judge. Any tips would be appreciated!
Now that my rant's over, I'm sure some of you have ran into this guy's videos before but I'll share the most recent one to those who haven't. While I don't personally see myself getting near to his length, the fact that it's basically floor length is a thing to admire and seeing how well taken care of his hair looks, I think I've found an inspiration of my own. I'll include a link to the video below as well.
Hope y'all are having a great day!
Inspiration Video
Hi Jesse, glad to see you stop back in again and tell us how you are doing :) I think your hair looks fantastic and love the thickness but I hear ya in regards to keeping it tamed and untangled.Might want to try adding beneficial oils to lubricate your hair but if you do just don't over do it at first.Too much and your hair will look oily as if it hadn't been washed in days or weeks.Using a boars bristle brush will do wonders also. You are blessed with a great mane so now the trick is keeping it maintained like that guy in that video clip. His hair is to die for but it cracked me up when after all that brushing he stuffed the ends in his back pocket! LOL. Cheers my friend.
Mârk
Thanks for the kind words Mârk, I do hope to post a bit more often now. Being completely honest, the only reason as to why my hair has endured so much time without a cut is because my boyfriend, who's a hairstylist, has given me advise on how to care for it but he's been out of the country for work for a while now so I've had to deal with my hair on my own for a while now.
I'll try the oils though, I've always liked them but stopped using them sometime list year for no reason at all. Anyways, thanks again for the help! :)
Hey Jesse,
That's awesome you had someone who was able to offer hair care advice locally but with him away for awhile now hopefully you've learned enough tips to keep your great mane maintained :)I feel the oils work great keeping the tangling at bay as if my own hair gets really dry that's when it tangles easily.Keeping hair moisturized makes it much easier to brush/comb without running into bunches of snarls.Hoping you do stick around here more often my friend.Cheers.

I've just posted my own very modest update. I'm a real beginner at 7 1/2 months compared with your superb hair. I loved the super-longhaired man in the video, but I don't think I'll want mine that long, just to have to stuff it in my back pocket!
How long have you been growing yours? 3 years?
Anthony
My blog
Thanks for the kind words Anthony, I've been growing my hair for two years and a half to be exact. I'm sure you'll get to your desired length in no time and once you do I bet it'll look awesome!
-----------------------
You have beautiful, thick hair. You are certainly good for a lot more length. Good luck reaching super length.
Scott
Thanks Scott! I do hope to reach a bit more length before getting to terminal length, just hope the thickness doesn't become much of a problem.
Hey Jesse,
Thanks for posting, you have really nice hair and I don't see you having any problem getting to be that long...
Instead of braiding maybe you could just use hair ties....
Either way your mane looks great, and thanks for sharing..
The Spaf Man
Hi Jesse,
Magnificent hair. The thick hair texture looks very good. To treat my hair tangles, my wife, and occasionally her hair stylist takes a very course plastic comb
(has canine sized teeth) through my wet hair. Encountering a tangle, the knot is cut out. cant repair this. Thins out the hair anyway. After all the tangles have been cut away, my wet hair is immersed in leave-in conditioner. No rinsing. The conditioner takes a half day to dry out. But then my hair combs through freely with very nice texture. Has a silk shine. Lasts a week. As the conditioner wears out.
Then I repeat, shower, tap the hair down with a towel, but keep it wet. Comb throughout with the course brush until all tangles are out. Then immerse the leave in conditioner. The more the better. I have had very good results. My tangles are almost negligible.
Don
Hey Don, thanks a lot for the advise man. I've never tried something like that before so I might as well try it out, sounds both useful and relaxing. Anything that get's rid of the tangles deserves a shot!
You are getting some great length. Continue to care for it and stay away from heat...
Thanks also for including the video link. "Stylist38" had two other videos posted in the past, but since deleted them. I would've never known another video was posted without your link.
It's some of the most inspirational male hair I've ever seen.
But why... oh... why is he using a blow dryer? You don't get nice hair that length if you heat damage it :-O
Hi Jesse,
Wow! What can I say? Your hair is fabulous and I am very much inspired to keep mine growing! I don't really think you need to grow your hair longer, but it couldn't hurt! As far as wearing your hair, what about a simple ponytail? Possibly you could use some type of oil to tame your hair. But whatever you do, please don't cut it! Thanks for the inspiration and please be well my friend!
Ted
Hi Jesse.
Wow, your hair is incredible! Great length and thickness. Actually, your hair remind me those from James K from a few years back (BTW, does anybody know what happened to James K?). And it only took you 2 1/2 years to reach that length? Your hair must grow +1 inch/month, at least. Sure wish my hair would grow that quickly! How long do you want them to be?
Regarding the video, I must admit that it has been a life long dream of mine to have my hair this long. But due to a strict upbringing and work requirement, I never could have long hair. Now, if everything goes well, I'll reach mid back at end of year. Far from this guy though....sure wish I was younger again! Many thanks for the link.
A.D.
Your hair looks amazing! If it's dry, try applying some oil. Keeping it moisturized seems to be the best way to prevent damage like split ends, at least that's my experience, and it's especially important if you want your hair to grow very long.
