Today makes 9 years since the last time I cut my hair.
When I posted my 8-yr update last year, I had hopes that it would reach my knees by this time. But it seems it reached terminal length this year, only growing about an inch and a half, as well as thinning out a lot.
I gotta say, this has been quite a journey. But to be quite honest, being an ultra-longhair is a pain in the patootie!
Although since you're still keeping it below the belt means that you still think that all that annoyance is worth it!
But now that it has stopped growing, I may very well cut it back to the length it was in my user profile -- a little past my shoulders. Not sure when I will do that however...
Why would you want to do that? Most of us dream of the day our hair will reach your length below waist belt. Maintain the ends clean/healthy and enjoy your great mane, even if it doesn't grow as fast anymore....

Congrats on the anniversary! You get to know what few guys ever do...the terminal length of your hair.

Hey William,
Congrats on your anniversary.
I hope that you don't cut your hair. I wish that I will see my hair reach below my belt. Maintain your healthy hair. You'll enjoy it even if it doesn't grow very much anymore.

I know what you mean. My hair's just a little above knee length now, but still growing. Once it gets beyond a certain length, your styling options become more limited for one thing. I can stick it in a braid or bun, but leaving it loose is not an option any more and it's too long to do some of the other styles by myself like I used to be able to do.
Even in a braid, it catches between the back and seat of my office chair. Loose, it risks getting caught in the castors, not to mention snagging on anything and everything. Doing any number of tasks/chores becomes a bit of a pain as if you don't secure it, chances are your hair will end up in something you'd rather it didn't!
A few weeks ago, one of the girls in my badminton club burst out laughing when I turned around. She thought I'd split my shorts, but it was actually the end of my braid hanging out the bottom of my T-shirt!
I'm certainly getting to the stage where I'm considering chopping about two feet off it - but I'm not quite there yet.
Pictures pictures pictures!!!
I hope you plan on sharing a few photos with us; but even if you don't, it's always great hearing from you, William!
Take Care,
Ken
PS - I hope you're still dancing!
Congratulations - maybe you will gradually reach knee, but even if not, you've done well.
