Here's a long hair broadcast chief engineer drying his very long hair with the heat exhaust from a broadcast transmitter. He got all wet outside in the rain. Go techies!
When I was in college I worked as a broadcast engineer. We had no heat in the building even though it was in a cold climate. The transmitter always kept it toasty in there. If it were near freezing at sign-on, it would be 70 degrees in the building within five minutes after turning on the plate current.
I'm curious whether you know my husband. He is a retired broadcast engineer from KGO. His web page is at the link.

From the title I thought that this was going to be some kind of novelty product, i.e. "A Hair Dryer That's Also a Walkie-Talkie!!!" (as if you could hear anything).
Very cool picture :-) Thanks.

I was able to dry mine yesterday in the warm wind. Humidity was low. (maybe 20%) I will use alternatives to blow drying when available.

I'll bet the RF stimulates extra hair growth, too :)

I wouldn't defeat the interlock and stick my wet head in the microwave, though!

Thanks for posting this! Looks like a very good blow dryer to me! Nothing like a set of Eimacs to dry your hair with! Can't wait until my hair gets that long.
