I am off to work a job in the deep South (Georgia & Alabama) for a few weeks.
First time I have been there in decades...it will be interesting to see how long hair is accepted there.
I will keep you posted.

Hi Walter,
Sounds like a nice trip and I'm sure it isn't as bad as you think it might be in regards to long hair acceptance.Still you never know so keep us posted.Safe travels my friend:) Cheers

Hi Walter,
Cheers and congrats on your latest position, and I hope that all goes well. Please keep us updated, and by all means, stay in touch.
Take care, and good luck,
David
Walter. My wife and I live in western WV and travel down south quite often. I think you'll find acceptance to your satisfaction.
There are many "long hairs" both young and old. The people are very friendly. Out west, they say it gets hot, but it's a "dry heat". Down south, it gets very hot and it's a "wet heat". Very humid and it plays havoc with long hair. Enjoy...
I go to new Orleans a lot , im very well accepted there with long hair , mine is 6 inches below my shoulders, I love it there !
Hi Walter,
Thanks for the check-in! I am always curious where you might be working. I am sure they will accept you down there and everything will be fine! Please don't work too hard and I will be excited to read your updates my friend! Please be safe and be well!
Ted
Hey Walter,
Great hearing from you!!
I haven't been to the deep South since... OMG, since I was in high school! I'm sure you'll be accepted just fine, no worries; but I look forward to a full report after you get back home!
Take Care,
Ken
Great hearing for everyone !
So far, so good...I am cloistered on the Department of Homeland Security's Incident Command Academy for three weeks of training....so far so good. Been keeping my hair tied back....but all this humidity is raising havoc with "desert hair" giggle
