I would like to give you an interesting update. My wife always admired my hair of 32 inches thick and long . She is experiencing a lot of thinning and so she had a trim which is now slightly more than a bob cut. But she insists that i grow it long and something interesting happened when we went out first after her cut
She insisted that i wear a braid instead of the usual bun or high pony and i obliged. It so happened that because of her short hair and my style probably people mistook us from the back and started passing comments - more interestingly that my hair looks great.
She took it very positively and said that she is proud for such comments and infact says that it is the way it is going to be in future also. She likes it short on her and long on me. For me its not a problem. She also wants me to use the double braids .
Back when I first grew my hair long-- in the 1970s, believe it or not-- my girlfriend at the time had a short "pixie" cut. I'm sure we stimulated plenty of passing conversation, too. What the heck, though. People need something to talk about.
Women can be amazing. My wife and I often lie in "spoons" position in bed, me behind her back. I often get a face-full of frizzy hair. Last night, we were the other way round and she got a face full of my hair. I simply said - "Now you know what it's like". I'm not far from having longer hair than her. That presents a new challenge. She's learning. The words "barber" or "scissors" (unless used to cut paper, cloth, food packaging, etc.) are taboo, and she is much more encouraging now she talks of hair bands, clips and using oil for when it really has to be kept really neat and slicked.
Believe me, when we men know what we want and refuse to flinch, they get used to it.

My blog
My wife (who supported me growing my hair, even though she doesn't like long hair on men) told me before I began growing it, "...as long as it is never longer than mine." Well, mine caught up to hers in less than two years...then kept going.
At that point, I figured that it was totally her decision. She had the ability to grow longer, but never did. She has gone slightly shorter over the years. I think she is just used to mine being much longer.
Vivek, how sharing a recent picture? I've only seen one very fuzzy picture of your hair years ago...
That's funny, my wife said exactly the same thing. Hers was at mid-back length when I started growing mine, and just like you, mine surpassed hers fairly soon. Now hers is barely collar-length, and mine is long enough to sit on. Oh well [grin]
