Hi guys,
Haven't been around the boards for a while, but wanted to drop in and say hi.
Life's been a bit hectic lately. Not very long after my last posts (October of last year, if I remember correctly) I got laid off from my job, so the last several months have been pretty busy with job-searching and trying to find ways to stretch what little budget I had left.
The good part is that I've found new employment, and the only issue they had with my hair is that I'll have to keep it tied up in a bun as I'll be working around large industrial machines, and don't want to give them a chance to yank on my 'tail.
Trolleypup, I remember many moons ago you posted some info about something along the lines of scrubs caps with a pocket for containing long hair. If you have the info handy anywhere, would appreciate a refresher.
Hope to drop by more often,
Jim aka Frodo
Hey Jim,
Always great hearing from you!!
I'm so glad to hear you have a new job, and that your new employer didn't insist you cut your hair at all -- what a relief!
I have to wear my hair in a bun (AND with a hat or hairnet also), as per Kitchen Safety and Health Code regulations (my primary source of income nowadays is cooking at a small nursing home, although I occasionally will do a gardening job like I used to do when I first posted here at MLHH).
We all need to remain financially independent; but at the same time, I know it means a lot to all of us here to also be who we want to be (and feel we ARE, both inside and out}, by being able to grow and keep our own hair!
Thanks so much for popping by to say hello!!

Thanks, Ken. And congrats on reaching "knee length" :P
Link is for the pony scrub hats...they have other styles for shorter hair. There are enough color choices that you can avoid stereotypically feminine patterns if you wish.

Thanks
Hi Jim,
I am very happy to hear you have found new employment! Definitely keep that hair away from those machines! Sounds like a decent place to work which is open minded. Do try to stop by more often! Please be well my friend!
Ted
Thanks, Ted. I'm hoping to drop in more often. We'll see how busy life gets with the new job.
Welcome back, and congrats on the new job! Don't be a stranger :)
Cheers,
Val
But they don't come much stranger than me :P
