Hi everyone!
As many of you know, Ive been growing my hair long for a while now....a life long dream!
However, because I unfortunately have thin hair, I decided to cut them and level them 18 months ago. The result was that my hair, although fairly short, was all the same length and gave an impression of greater thickness.

Since then, Ive continued to let my grow longer. Ive had two trims to ensure my ends would remain healthy. So heres what it looks today (18 months later).
Next step is mid back...which I should reach by the the end of the year, despite the trim Im planning in September (after swimming in salty waters and outdoor pools during the summer).
Then, onwards towards waist length!

Lookin' good there, A.D.!
When you mentioned that your hair was "thin" before your trim, I don't see where you're talking about -- to my eyes, your hair looks incredibly thick & full, no evidence of any thinning that I can detect.
In any case, thank you for posting your update, and keep on with your excellent hair-farming "work!"

Maybe AD means his hair is fine - it sure doesn't look thin to me either - i was shocked at your progress, AD. when I clicked on the second picture, I was so surprised at how long and nice looking it is... Excellent progress and hair to be envied.
Looks fantastic to me!
Fitz
Thank you Fitz. My hair grew approx 8-9 inches between the 2 pics, with 2 trims... but the growth rate has started to slow down in the last few months. Yes, I do have fine hair...but I've been blessed with lots of it! Believe me, the flatness/lack of thickness shows if I don't wash my hair almost daily. I use an avocado & olive oil shampoo & conditioner....a little bit more expensive, but with great results.

Yeah, I have to scratch my head a bit every time I talk about my hair, because the way people use some of those words is ambiguous. Posts have to be worded right to make sure people know what I mean.
There are four situations:
1. Coarse hair. The strands have a large diameter.
2. Fine hair. The strands have a small diameter.
3. Dense hair. You have lots of strands per square inch of scalp.
4. Sparse hair. You have few strands per square inch of scalp.
1 & 3 or a combination of them can make you look like you have "a lot of hair". "Thick" is used for that situation. Your ponytail will be thick (big diameter).
2 & 4 or a combination of them can make you look like you don't have much hair. "Thin" is used for that situation. Your ponytail will be thin (small diameter).
"Thinning shears" work on reducing #3, making you more like #4.
Hair care products that give you "thicker hair" work on #2, making you more like #1.
In New England, you see road signs that say "Thickly settled". This means #3, there are lots of people in a small area there. It does not mean #1, the people there are all fat!
Confusing, I know!

Looking amazing, A.D!
I too, have trouble imagining you having "thin" hair, no matter how you meant that ;)

It's really inspirational to see your hair at different lengths. It looks really good! I'm excited just to get mine shoulder length. Sometimes it feels like it'll never get there.
Thank you Steve.
But just be patient. You'll get there, slowly but surely. Patience is the key word...
