And growing.
That is a SWEET look! LOVE the white hair!
The half up/half down style, the cool beard...
I've been having my grey hair covered since I began growing a dozen years ago at the request of my wife, but I'd love to transition over to white hair at some point.
Looks great!
Thanks, Sunsailing for the kind words. You have got to show us a pic of your hair. A dozen years, wow. That would look awesome
in white.
I grew mine a dozen years ago...hair only grows for so many years. I did have it below my waist for a while, but I found that it just got in the way too much (accidentally tucking into pants, etc.) So I cut it to a little above waist and there it has stayed ever since.
Included is a recent picture showing the length.
Hi Sunsailing,
Now that is some beautiful hair! I thank you for posting this photo since I think I have similar type hair to you. I sure hope mine can get to that length and look that good! My actual goal is waist length. Please keep it growing and be well my friend!
Ted
Thanks Ted.
It will continue to grow, but I will keep it tamed to it's current length ;-) (which is longer without the curls/waves in the picture)
Damn, I just love it, seeing another longhair rockin' the white mane! Looks great, man.
We can say to the younger guys on here, "See what you have to look forward to!"
Bill
Thanks, Bill. I must say yours looks just great. Glad to see another white haired dude.
Your hair is so amazing! I love its color and it's so thick. The halfup style looks fantastic! It's a real inspiration to me to look forward to a lifetime as a longhair and see the gradual color changes that will take place.
Currently my beard has lots of gray in it but my head hair very little. I'm sure that will change in the next few years.
Hi Jason, thanks for the nice compliment. Actually, I was gray headed in my mid-30's. And it just went from gray to white in the following years. My Dad's hair never did turn completely white and he had very little recession. This was up until he passed away at 98. Hope I can do as well.
Thanks again for the kind words.
Yep. The beard is often where it starts. The photo is me 24 years ago, 7 years before I discovered MLHH. Besides my hair turning white, it all went from curly to straight. And when I was 4 years old, my hair was very curly and very blond. I have never dyed it.
Bill
How does ones hair go from blond to nearly black?
I really don't know. They cut my hair off so short that I could not tell its color for many years. When I was able to grow it back out, it had turned black. It had also gotten very straight. Then as the years went by, it got curlier and curlier. It was like an afro when I was around thirty. In my forties I began to grow it long, and by then most hairs were corkscrews. Then in my fifties, white hairs began coming in. At that time, all my hair began getting more straight.
I got a thick beard at age fourteen, but I was not allowed to grow it. In my twenties I did, and it came in black and extremely kinky. It was so kinky that I could not run a comb through it, and it got too tangly if I let it grow very long. At about age thirty I noticed four white hairs in my beard. At first I thought it was some kind of quirk, and then as I got more of them, I realized it was the beginning of the whitening of my hair. I tried growing my beard out about ten years ago but it was still too kinky so I trimmed it back. About two years later, I noticed it was much less kinky. This was about the same time as my hair got straight. So I let the beard grow out. It is now a mixture of wavy hair and corkscrews.
My beard has always been very coarse, while my hair has always been very fine. The two have never been anything alike, except that their color has been near enough the same that they have always blended together nicely. When people look at me, they often don't see where one begins and the other ends, unless they notice the hair strands' diameters.
Interestingly, I was harassed to the point of abuse over both my hair and beard, but the harassment about my beard did not start until I was age fourteen. I did not get the psychological scars from that abuse because it started at a much later age. When I have wanted to grow my beard out, I've just easily done it. My hair, where the abuse started when they cut off all my blond curls when I was five years old, was a different matter altogether.

White Mane:
You are blowing us all away! Your hair is gorgeous... and I agree - I like the way you styled it for the photo. I'll bet you get a lot of compliments. You should, if you don't.
Fitz
I really like your beard and moustache here! Looking very good my friend!
Ted
Nice hair! And wearing it in my favorite style too! :D
Another awesome pic!
The Spaf Man
I too love the white look. Most impressed by how thick and full it all is. Most men our age are getting too thin on top to look as good as yours does. Thanks for posting such great pics!
Thanks, Mike. I appreciate your come back.

Hi White Mane,
Add my WOW to the others! You are blessed with the most wonderful thick head of snow white hair, and I hope that you grow it as long as you possibly can, since it is such an inspiration to others.
Although I started getting some silvers in my hair more than 5 years ago, they haven't taken over as much as I would have liked. There is somewhat more silver colouring in my beard, though.
Keep up the excellent work with the growing!
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks for the kind words, David. I am looking at 3/4's down the back. Or maybe a little more.

You have awesome hair! I love the white looks great, I am at 8 months so if I do that time all again I hope my hair looks as great as yours, thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Seminole. Keep at it. The months will roll by and you will see good results.
Just beautiful, really an inspiration to see!!
My beard is VERY white; but my head hair has quite a mix of colors still, including white hairs, blonde hairs, and a few darker-colored hairs in back. I'm 60 years old, turning 61 towards the end of next month; so I'm always glad to see someone close to my age /era posting pics of their long hair as well
Thanks again for your post!

PS - the lush green background in your photo is beautiful to look at also!
Thanks for the kind words, Ken. I'm glad to see more guys from our era growing hair long. We are very fortunate to have a lot of wild greenery around the house.

Absolutely magnificent! I wonder if I'll have anything like that next January. Not impossible. My hair isn't yet completely white but it probably will be before I get to the end of my 50's. I find the high ponytail very amusing - and it suits you.
