Thanks, Bill!
I have used your Photo Resize Utility many many times over the years, so I can't wait to try out the new & improved features! Now, if only you could make me look like Orlando Bloom, I'd be even more grateful (LOL)....
- Ken
OMG, I can see all of the wrinkles in my face VERY clearly now (and I don't look even remotely like Orlando Bloom) -- can't you fix this "problem?" Can't you make my hair look drop-dead gorgeous, and yet blur my facial feature a little? I'm a vain old geezer, I want to look like I'm only 29!!!
Actually, that software does exist. I know that because my husband Larry used it when he was an engineer at KGO-TV, Channel 7. The software seeks out the flesh tones in each frame of the picture and blurs it. This takes out the wrinkles. If the software is cranked up too much, it makes the newscasters have faces that look like those of China dolls. The female newscasters really went for it! When high definition TV came along, wrinkles became more visible to viewers, so the software got used more!
Sometimes when we'd see the same people in places where they were unable to apply the software, they'd look a lot older.
That software you can imagine is somewhat complex. Blurring of pictures is, of course, easy with common software, but if the flesh tones are not separated out, blurring will also take out the texture of the hair, which most vain longhairs such as yourself would abhor. [wink]
I could add a blurring option, and label it, "Make me look younger while making my hair look like crap," but I'll refrain.
I could also have it shrink the photos more in the horizontal direction than in the vertical, and label that option, "Make me look skinnier." I'll also refrain. Mark might use it by accident, and he'd disappear!
On a serious note, I added the new features you see because:
1. Server capacities and Internet speeds have increased, allowing bigger photos to be processed, and in fact photos have tended to get bigger. So I bumped up the limit on the size of the file from 4 megs to 16.
2. People with traditional cameras hardly ever took photos while holding the camera upside down, but some cell phone camera users do, so I added 180 degree rotation (upside down) to the two existing 90 degree rotations. The two 90 degree rotations have been needed all along, because people have always been twisting their cameras by that much to take "portrait" (taller than wide) shots.
Bill
WOW, I had no idea...
LOL, yes, I'd bet so!
Amen!!!
LOL!
ROLF, yes, I'm so envious of how skinny he is!
Thanks, Bill! All kidding aside, I could care less if I see wrinkles in my face -- hey, I've EARNED those lines, I've worked hard over many years in order to get that look (LOL)!
- Ken
Hey, you vain old geezer - you look pretty hot to me... or is there another term you'd prefer - I can't remember -
All kidding aside - this is a great picture of a great guy and seeing it a little larger only accentuates all the positives we see in your face, your hair and your personality - which is one I've come to appreciate and enjoy...
Fitz
Fitz, you called Ken "vain" 48 seconds after I did, surely not knowing I had, since you didn't write your post that quickly. So two of us have. Could it actually be true!
Bill
Now I just realized that Ken also called himself "vain". The votes are in, 3-0. Settled. Unanimously. Final answer. Ken is vain!
At least I didn't call him old. Hell, I'm older than he is, so I'd better not touch that one!
Bill
The VOTES are clearly in - but I want to make it clear - I'd never call anyone anything that they hadn't already called themselves first...
I think you both are fine specimens with your long hair and beards and wonderful, friendly attitudes!
Glad to know you both in this limited way!
Fitz
Reminds me of an old joke from the '80s (I think it was Jay Leno who said this):
"Ronald Reagan does NOT dye his hair dark, that's his natural hair color -- he just bleaches his face!" (LOL)
Thanks so much for the kind words, Fitz! "Truth be told", I'm only 24 years old -- it's just that I look like Hell for that age! ("yeah, right, sure buddy, cough cough!" - LOL)
Hey Bill,
Thanks!
I hope to try it out.
Raymond
Thanks for the enhanced features, Bill. I am a frequent user of your resize program.
Thanks for your comment and mentioning that you use it. Out of privacy concerns for my site's visitors, I have it keep no records concerning itself, so it's just when I hear from someone like now that I know it's being used.
