I've been thinking about wives and families and friends and what they think or say (to our face - or behind out backs) since I read Mike's post about his wife preferring his hair in a tail... and some of the feedback...
I went to a family reunion this weekend - my entire immediate family was able to go with me... I haven't seen some of my cousins in several years - some are puffed up and all about appearance - others are not so much - and I could tell right away which ones accepted my family's unique choices and who did not... I almost forgot until afterward and started thinking about it - just how different my family may have looked compared to the others...
Keeping that hair growing... and encouraging my kids to be independent thinkers and doers - not harming anyone - but breaking the stereotypes out of the molds others put us in.
Well done, and well said, Fitz!
Cheers,
Val
Excellent comments and observations, Fitz! It takes guts to stand out from the crowd and be different -- not that we do that just for the sake of being "different" only; but because we are willing to follow our hearts and pursue what feels more natural to US, rather than just allowing ourselves to feel the pressure to conform to what others tell us we "should" do.
Thanks for your post here!

I love your feedback, Ken = thanks!
It's all about making your own choices. Only dead fish swim with the tide.
I've never heard that expression before, I'll have to remember that one!!
Thanks,
Ken
Overheard:
"Honey, I just don't know if we should spend this much time with the Fitz's. They're just so...alternative. The father even has hair that's almost as long as his son's!"
Seriously, good for you all. I think it's cool.
Chris
Thanks for that, Chris = made me smile!
Hi Fitz..
Well stated, and thanks for sharing!
Hi Fitz,
I always enjoy reading your posts! I am glad you were able to attend the reunion and see your relatives after many years. I do think it's cool that you all are doing your own thing. After all, it's our life to live how we want to live it! Good on ya!

It is interesting isn't it? For me, I have an uncle who has had long hair for many years, and recently a lot of family on FB that I don't see often are saying how much I look like him...when the reality is it's just my hair lol. He has about 25 years, 4" in height, and 120 pounds on me!

I just went to my family reunion.
No comments except one....I was wearing my hair in a bun and one cousin asked if I had gotten it cut, or was it all really contained in the back.
My wife smiled and said it was all still there!
