So shortly after my last update I had to get a slight trim for work, but I'm still going here. The front and sides are still a bit problematic, but they're getting there. I am still trying to figure out what's best for me in terms of washing, styling, combing, brushing, etc. So basically everything. Right now, I'm washing and conditioning every day. I know some people say not to do that. I've tried doing it every other day, but I hated the way my hair felt on days I didn't wash it. I've also heard it's really important to have a high quality shampoo and conditioner. I think my stuff is pretty standard, but it seems to get the job done. As always, any and all help and advice is welcome. For reference, here is my previous update: http://mlhh.org/messages/313752.html
Looks good. You have good body and texture. I condition mine every morning when I shower, But only shampoo it once every week. Your environment can make a diffrerence in how you clean/condition your ahir. I live In the dry environment of the U.S. southwest. When in more humid areas I need to shampoo more often but condition less. experiment in what works for you to get the look and health of your hsir with which you are comfortable.
It looks good, Z. You have a great body of hair and nice color, too. I wash and condition my hair almost every day... I live the northeast where it is humid - my hair just doesn't look good unless I wash it - my hair is thin/ fine anyway. so it looks stringy when I don't do something with it. You do what makes sense to you.
Keep up the good work, the hard part is almost over.
Your hair looks very similar to mine, the curls in the back will settle down once it's longer. Can't wait to have your length and longer :)
WOW.... Just plain WOW!!!!
Re. your hair-care routine, it will evolve over time. One way to give your hair a break is to do water-washing only (in other words, just rinsing with plain water. Try it -- it's a nice compromise between shampooing every day VS trying to go for 2 or 3 days between shampoo days.
Another thing that works for me is to brush my hair (when the hair is dry), doing it thoroughly and for long enough to feel a pleasant "tingle" in the scalp. I do this on mornings between shampoo days.
Anyway, everybody's hair and scalp is different; so it's just a matter of trying to discover what works best for YOU.

Hi Zeldafan355!
Your hair is looking great, I also get waves/curls on the ends, but you have much, much more thickness...
I'm glad that was only a slight trim! ..
... sometimes they go nuts!
