Well, to further encourage any job-seekers on the board, I have now found two jobs within two months, neither of which had a problem with my hair.
I'm working my last night at the box plant tonight, and start with the new job tomorrow. I'm working as an 'Assembly Technician' for a company that does on-site work assembling furniture and playground equipment. The working conditions are significantly better than the box plant, and I get paid for the driving I have to do, instead of the three-hour round trip for my commute coming out of my pocket. And I'll also be doing some admin/computer work for the company, which I'll be doing from the comfort of the office in my basement. WIN!!!
Keep looking... there are good jobs out there.
