From time to time Ill go through a period where i feel like my hair is thinner and then ill go thought a period of feeling normal....rinse and repeat every few months or so....i know it my mind playing tricks on me as ill looking at my hair in the mirror and it looks the same as always but it still kinda worries me when i go though these phases of feeling like it is tinning out....just wondering....anyone else have this experience?
In my case I know my hair is thinning out due to the feel of my ponytail. I normally wear it pulled back, its still growing longer at a snails pace but I can tell from the feel after I brush my hair in the morning & re-do my ponytail its not as thick as it used to be. In the words of Tony Soprano "Whata ya gonna do",lol. Sounds like you got nothing to worry about.
I often have this feeling especially on the top of my head. My hair has thinned out over the years and become finer as it greyed and whitened. I can see the crown of my head as I look at it with the usual two-mirror combination.
As James D says, it is partly our hair getting thinner even if we don't go bald, partly the contrast between the length and the thickness. There is also the increasing weight of the hair as it gets longer, plus any tension on it when tying it back into a tail, braid, etc.
Don't worry about it. Just go on with regular routine care. We are the way we are. We can't have somebody else's hair!
