First off, let me start by thanking Dave from here on the MLHH for all the help and encouragement with going through with this :)
Basically, I went ahead and wanted to do the same treatment he had done to his hair back in Argentina, here in my home country of Norway.
Now, considering that his sort of Keratine treatment is not done here, I went ahead and with the blessing of my good friend and hairdresser, taken a Redken Relaxer treatment.
The results, as well as pictures from the actual treatment, are in front of you in the video right here!
Would love to see some more MLHH support and presence on my YT channel, seeing as how many people are getting into growing their hair long together there, and you guys being able to answer questions and help out promote the topic :)
Thanks, and take care!
Raul.
Hey Raul!
I am glad you finally took the treatment ( btw, I thought you would take it next week or so, I wasnt expecting to see you doing this so soon haha).
I must say the results are great and the improvement is noticeable. I really like how the treatment took away all the waviness you wanted to get rid of and still looks natural.
Did they give you a special shampoo and conditioner to use afterwards?
Remember that it is important to use a sulfate-free shampoo (or something with no salts in it) so that the results last longer. This is THE KEY to maintain the result.
There are some special shampoos and conditioners designed for people whose hair is relaxed. So I am positive you will find them anywhere.
Also, if they flat ironed your hair that means that the product they applied interacts with heat and the flat iron seals the product in your hair . I would suggest you to flat iron your hair probably once in a while (once a week or once every two weeks if you like) just to make sure the product sticks to your hair longer.
I hope you're doing ok buddy :)
Hey Dave, thanks again for all your great advice and support through all of this!
The odd thing is that I asked specifically about soulfate-free shampoos or any other special treatments I need to give my hair, and I was told that unline the Keratin treatment, I do NOT need any special products, only that it's a great idea to use a hair mask once or twice a week in order to give the hair back it's nourishment and moisture.
I went ahead and bought a product called KERASTASE K MASKERATINE which was at 50% off, and I will probably get back to my fave produkt back from when I was bleaching and dying my hair, KPAK RECONSTRUCT mask. Love that stuff, and it really does wonders!
4 days later, hair is silky smooth, about 80-90% straighter and I am absolutely loving it like never before! :)
Hi Raul,
Nice update and great results from the hair treatment:)I'm happy the treatment didn't seem to hurt your hair as that's the last thing you'd want especially after last year.I never used Redken products but I have heard about them and people seem to like it.There is a Redken store in Manhattan so when Dave visits here in November maybe he might want to check it out if he too uses their stuff.I'm happy your enjoying your hair more than you seemed to the last time around.Good luck and as they say.....Keep it Growin'!" Cheers

Hi Mark!
Appreciate the comments!
I definitely had YOU specifically in mind while sitting there at the hairdresser's chair and thinking "Damnit, I do NOT want to think of Mark's comments if I end up bald again" :D hehehe

Hi Raul,
Hmmm, I never thought I would have that effect on you really. That is, if you lost you hair again I'd put the fear of "God" into you ;) lol.Cheers
