Hello Everyone!
I've started growing out my hair, it's been about 4-5 months since my last cut. I'm at the stage where my hair has decided that it doesn't really want to obey the laws of gravity lol. Any suggestions on how to reduce the volume of your hair?

Hey "OC_Danny",
Welcome to the longhaired tribe, bro!
Your hair looks awesome for four (4) to five (5) months of growth.
I don't know how you reduce the volume of your hair except to cut it which is something you don't want to do! I suggest that you just let it grow. Volume will be your friend because as your hair gains volume and weight it will obey the laws of gravity and fall nicely to frame your face and cascade about your shoulders.
Welcome to the family, bro. Keep us posted to show your progress.
Your long haired bro,
Raymond
Hi Raymond,
Thank you for the nice words and encouragement. I don't plan on cutting my hair except for the occasional trim to get rid of the dry/damaged ends. My hair is pretty thick and wavy/curly as it gets long. I know that when it's long the weight of the curls will pull it down, it's just that going through this phase, I look like Don King at times lol.
Hello OC Danny,
You could use caps, hats or bandannas to control the volume of your hair while it grows out. It will feel and appear like it has less volume as it grows out and you can finally tie it back into a ponytail.. Beautiful color by the way!

Hi OC_Danny,
Welcome to the board! I must say I love the color of your hair! And I do believe if you grew it out past your shoulders at least, it would look fantastic! It will start to obey laws of gravity if you just give it a chance! As far as reducing the volume of your hair, that kind of goes against growing it. Usually thinning the hair will reduce volume. But to keep it growing and appearing long, it should be layered. This will prolong the growing time.
But if you aren't really looking for all one length hair, layering is okay. I think you should let it get to the goal length you have in mind. Then make a decision how you want it to look. I think by then your hair will have become long enough to lie down better for you. Hair has a funny way of correcting itself. I know I'm much happier with mine now and it's only getting better. Hope this helps! Please be well my friend!

Like Ted said, you'll have to deal with the volume until it gets some more length! The good news is most people will be envious of your volume :) Keep up the good growth work! What length do you for-see yourself growing to?

Hi Tommy! sorry for the late reply, been a bit under the weather. I'm going for past the shoulders at the shortest. Not sure about terminal length but we'll see what happens. My sister and I have identical hair except she still has color in hers ;) but she can grow her hair to her waist so that may be an option as well.
