playing around a little this morning and thought we could all show off our best 'face'...could this be the new ice bucket challenge???
I'll use my avatar as my face pic.
As far as the ice bucket challenge goes, I dispise the idea..
Instead of going through all these gymnastics they should just
donate money to ALS. My understanding is the ice bucket challenge
is only a means to avoid donating to ALS.
"The Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on one's head or donating to the ALS Association in the United States. It went viral throughout social media during mid 2014.[1][2]
The challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads. A common stipulation is that nominated people have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation.[3]"
IMHO instead of getting your two minutes of fame on facebook to avoid making a donation you should just quietly, and without fanfare donate to ALS.
I would also mention as a sad side note that the guy who created the Ice Bucket Challenge apparently died of drowning recently.
Drowning
I am paticularly irritated about the idea of the ice bucket challenge to get out of donating to find a cure as my mother passed away from ALS earlier this summer. I appreciate bringing awareness of ALS to the public and raising money, but the wording of the challenge should be changed to inspire giving rather than recording a cold bath.
Having said that, the high schools and colleges in my community have accepted the ice bucket challenge, but to participate you must first bring a donation. My children's high school required a $10 donation to take part. For that I say kudos. That is how it should be.

One thing I would add is folks need to be really careful doing the challenge. There was an item on the news two firefighters died doing the challenge when they came in contact with some
live power lines.
Well Gordy, this pic is a couple of years old; but hey, I think it will do the job!
