This month marks 16 years since the last time my hair was cut or trimmed, hard to believe that it has been 16 years already. Not much has happened length wise for the past 10 years, but I still love brushing it out daily. I haven't braided my hair like my avatar for a couple of years now. I usually go with either a simple tail or segmented tail most of the time. I do occasionally go with a half tail or left loose if I want to show off my hair some. Anyway, I just took this photo a few minutes ago.

Super WOW, Daniel - super thick and beautiful - I'm blown away and glad to see what you look like these days... another good package w/ the glasses and the beard.
Thank you fitzgarce
Love it.... Thanks for your inspiring photo!...

Thanks.

Hi Daniel,
That's a mighty fine looking mane you have:)Certainly of great quality, density, and texture.I'm with you regarding no trims or cuts anymore as the last professional trim I had was back in 2005.I figure to just let it grow to its terminal length which I feel is basically what I have now.My hair is still growing, as evidenced by the growth line between henna redos.Although I wish I could achieve more length I'm not complaining and am grateful for what I have:)Superb update my friend!Cheers

I'm with you on desiring more length. I'm pretty envious of Scott's length and wish I could obtain that length myself. However, it does make me feel good when I hear someone say about my hair, "Dude, that's some seriously long hair!"

Thank you Walter White Tail.

WOW, that is one spectacular-looking head of hair you have there, Daniel, simply terrific!!!
And even more impressive than your actual hair is the fact that you've had it long for a total of 16 years -- now that's what I call a serious COMMITMENT!!!!!
Thanks for sharing your pic and your story here!
Interesting to hear how for the past 10 years your length hasn't grown much. I've experienced approximately the same (my last short haircut was in Y2K, so that being 14 years ago, to the best of my memory my hair length hasn't increased much in the past 7 years, or thereabouts -- other than the occasional surprising "growth spurt" of maybe a half-inch every now & then).
Also it's nice to hear of someone else here who believes in the brushing ritual. I remember hearing from my grandmother's generation to brush "100 strokes" in order to stimulate the blood flow in the scalp, as well as to help distribute the natural oils (sebum) down the hair shafts. While I've never literally counted to 100, I do find that if I brush on the days between shampoo days, it makes my scalp feel all "tingley" & refreshed -- as if I've recently washed, although without getting my hair wet.
Thanks again, Daniel, for the great update!
Take Care,
Ken in San Francisco
Yes that is one spectacular looking head of hair.
I started brushing my hair recently. I'll see how it goes.
Thanks Ken for your reply.
I can't say that I've ever counted brush strokes, but I think it would be safe to say that I haven't ever done the 100 stroke brushing ritual. I just generally brush until I feel like I have sufficiently brushed down the oils and detangled any knots that I found in the process and smoothed out my hair from root to tip. Some days, when I am not rushed and I am leaving my hair loose I will pick up my brush again after an hour or so just to keep it smooth and tangle free. If I could figure out how to make a reasonable income just by brushing out my hair, I would do very well.

Congratulations! 16 years is a great commitment - keep it up!
