I have as good as made it to my first full year without any cutting or trimming. My tail is a little high for my taste but the side hairs are still too short to stay in for long, and the front bang is going to take at least another 6 months. Still, I'm getting there.
This is from a buzz cut in September 2013.

Congratulations Anthony! It looks like there's only a few of those troublesome side hairs to catch up. You're almost there! Looking good!

Congratulations reaching one full year, it's looking good Anthony and you can still put up your sides behind your ears, I wish I could get mine behind the ears too but you know, I'm getting close to two years but curly hair tends to take a more longer time than straight hair like yours.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers!
Congratulations, Anthony - you have achieved a new understanding of patience... growing hair long ought to be used to teach people how to wait and be patient. It sure takes a lot longer than inexperienced people think it will...
Your hair looks great. Nice quality to it. The next few months will be your reward for all that endurance. And the longer it gets, the more you'll enjoy it.
Looking great Anthony! Congrats on one year... you have made great progress, and as others have said, we learn much patience in this journey...
you will soon be there... all the best.... The Spaf Man
Hi Anthony,
Thanks for posting this wonderful update! I must say your hair has grown quite a lot in one year! I really like the color and texture which will most likely get even better with more length! Of course, your tail will gradually "lower" itself with added length. Here's to another year of fantastic growth! Please be well my friend and enjoy the journey!

Just EXCELLENT in every way, Anthony, you've made it through the toughest part of it; so just keep on going, not too much longer and you'll feel like you've "arrived!"

I would like to thank you all for your encouragements. My little mop is nothing compared with some of our "seniors" in longhairdom. It has been just a year, and the awkward stage goes on for more than 18 months for many guys.
It teaches us patience and a different value from the modern world in which we have to have everything instantly or even yesterday. We learn to deal with criticism, which become rarer the longer our hair grows and the older we get. It shapes our human experience and our character.
I particularly encourage my colleagues in the one-year club. A word for the beginners: Be free in your choice, aim high and be prepared for the long slog.

Early on in my hair farming career, I wasn't too keen on a higher tail either. But I learned that that putting my hair up in a half tail attracts a good many admirers (compliments) while at the same time keeping the most unruly hairs in check. Give it a shot and see how that works out for you.
More on topic, you have some great looking hair and good length for only a year. Keep it up.
