Me and my bro are new here, any pro tips for how to make progress? I really admire the fervent dedication of everyone here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Good start.
Please see my reply to the guy who posted above you.... My comments to him applies the same to you guys, too (other than my statement about the Tillamook cheese - LOL)!

The best way to make progress in growing your hair is to
cut it. (Resist the temptation to trim it.)
Hi LHIA,
I think you might have meant to not cut it.

Hi Nick and Bro,
Welcome to the board! There really isn't anything to it! You guys have wonderful hair to work with and you just have to have much patience! Let your hair grow and wait about 2 years or so. I really believe you will be surprised at how good you guys will look with long straight black hair! Please be well my friends!

This is what happens when you don't cut your hair (especially the back) for a year and then some...
You will look AWESOME!
It's always good to see other Asians on this board.
Apart from not dyeing/trimming, hats/hoodies come in quite useful. Part it down the center ASAP -- it'll hide the lack of growth on top since it segues into the lower growth.
I don't towel off my hair; I prefer to let it air/blow dry instead. You may even get away with rinsing the oils out... I don't since I lift a lot of weights.
Eat your protein -- meat, eggs, and cheese.
(This is the perfect time to learn to stand up to your parents and decide for yourself -- mom and dad will invariably tell you to cut it off. The best course of action is to ignore them.)
Hi Matt,
Excellent post and awesome pic of your hair! Thanks for the inspiration! You are doing great in the growing process! Please be well my friend! Try not to study too hard!:)

Welcome to MLHH! .... You both are off to a great start....
It's best if you can do it when you're young....
All the best.... The Spaf Man
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Patience, mostly. I pretty much stick to the whole "Wash your hair only at most every other day only cut it every 6 months ish etc." stuff that most others will tell you.
