I haven't posted for maybe 2 months, but to answer your question, hair has a tensile strength of 109 megapascals.
190 megapascals
That seems really high, which means we'd better have Scott check to see if that is right, before tying your boat to the dock with it! This is what we have our resident hair scientist for.

I just took a very fine shed strand of my own hair (0.0017" diameter or 43 microns in diameter) and it took about 60 grams to break it. That is 58,000 PSI. I guess hair is even stronger than I thought. I did look it up again and it said 380 megapascals.
