I cut my hair......Well, I actually just had it trimmed. it was approaching waist length and some of the "leaders had already grown far beyond. However, I needed to neaten things up. it was looking a bit raggedy. My partner, who knows hair well, examined and found a few split ends. so I decided to retreat, just a "hair" (sorry) My hair is once again at mid back length, my stated "historic" length. My tail has more bounce and body without the added weight and all this just cements my feelings that mid-back is "my' length. Now that even more hairs are of one length. I may set out in future for greater length, but not right now.
We,as longhairs, have the luxury to choose how we like to have our longhair whereas shaved heads are just that...shaved! LOL.Some of us are terminal length guys while other just prefer it shaggy which is cool either way :)Sounds like you found a desired length now but are leaving longer lengths open in the future.
I was thinking next year,2015,and August to be exact it will have been 10 years since I had my own hair last trimmed by a stylist.Obviously my hair isn't down to the the floor so I'm figuring I achieved my own terminal length and am satisfied with that:)Cheers

Awesome post, Jason, I really enjoyed reading it! Very insightful, too.
Thanks for sharing this valuable perspective, and I think you articulated it very eloquently!

I have more than once admitted that because of the things that I enjoy doing and my preferences for how I wish to wear my hair, along with its body with enlarging personality in humid (sweaty) conditions that I would probably be best off if I kept my hair at mid-back length myself. However, because I love the way the longest of hairstyles look on other people and am somewhat envious when I come across someone that has hair longer than mine, I probably will never cut it again. So far that love for longer hair has outweighed the need for what would work best during my more active activities for the last 16 years. We all have our own personal preferences of what works for us whether it be aesthetics or functionality within our own personal lifestyles. Whatever you like and works for you is great.
