Been growing it out since the last week of june 2014!
I've been washing my hair on mondays and thursdays, and conditioning every day.
I don't know if it makes too much sense, but I use an old t-shirt to remove excess water from my hair on the wash days, since it doesn't absorb as much oil, and using an actual towel on the other days to try and control how quickly my hair gets oily.
After 6 months (and 4 with the hair actually touching my face) I've noticed a trend: Wherever my bangs end tend to be where I get more acne. I can only fake a ponytail (bobby pins and hella hairspray) after 3 days of no shampoo, so I can't really keep it back like that, and hats aren't allowed in school. Any tips?
The red streak doesn't reach my roots (luckily), and split ends have yet to be seen anywhere still! A bunch of my friends are also in different stages of growing out their hair, and I'm actually catching up to her, somehow, so I think I might get to my initial goal of collar-bone-length hair within 1.5 years.

Hey VinYang,
Awesome hair, bro!
For only six (6) months out from your last haircut you have amazing length; about three (3) inches.
Keep going!
Your long haired bro,
Raymond
Hi VinYang,
So far your hair is looking fantastic for the short time you've been growing it out :)Your initial goal should come quickly so begs the question where do you go from there????As for your acne I would think there is some sort of skin cream you could put on to combat that.I can't imagine hair touching your face is causing worse acne.Of course I've never had to deal with that so I'm not an expert but just a thought.Looking great otherwise my friend :)Cheers

Thanks :) Once I can have all of my hair sort of evened out around that length, I'll probably at least experiment with letting it reach terminal length (because at that point, it's no chore to do so), or at least long enough to do a bun

If you are finding that you have very oily complexion and hair, you may want to consider washing it more often... especially at this length. The longer it gets, the less often you will want to wash and condition the ends - but if you are oily, you may still want to wash the roots more often than twice a week. I don't think you need to worry about split ends or drying your hair out too much at this point. The oily skin and hair could be causing the extra acne...

Thanks, man. I guess I'll try 3 times a week for now :)
I can tell you've been making progress since your previous pics! When growing your hair out, always keep in mind, you're not there yet, but you're close than you were yesterday! Cheers!
