I just got my hair cut in December, this is what it looked like as of 12/27. From this length, how long until it will be at my shoulders? Like approx month/year?
Also, does it appear like I'm going bald?

It does not appear you are going bald
It will take about 18-24 month for your hair to reach your shoulders.
How long until it gets to the length my father had here--basically chin length but long enough to look long?:
I think you could reasonably expect to have that length in about a year. We all had to start sometime, and I am now at 16 months, way beyond your father in the photo.
Be patient and persevere. It is not something you can hurry. The "awkward stage" is also something you have to face. I am not quite out of mine yet! I can tie up my ponytail, but I still have a lot flapping around when the wind blows.

Looks great Newbie!
Looks like you have a nice healthy head of curly hair. Curly hair takes longer to apprear long as it bunches up and out sometimes. Don't see any evidence of baldness at this point. Be patient, It will look great if you keep it growin' n flowin'!
