Hello guys :) I joined this forum about 8 months ago or so when I decided that I was going to transition from a shorthair to a longhair. I have always wanted to grow my hair out, but lacked the discipline and patience at a younger age to go through with it. I have thoroughly enjoyed my ever changing hair these last 8 months, and am super excited to see it change even more the longer it gets. I feel that longhair fits my personality, my life creedo, and my overall outlook on life. I feel that I was born a longhair, but deviated from the path for 34 years :) I have naturally thick hair, that has lightened some over the years and even shows hints of red in the right lighting. My mother is a natural red head :) The last hair cut for me was on May 15th of 2014. It will be a year in 4 months from today, and luckily it seems that I have hair that grows pretty dang fast. I had a short almost buzzlike style 8 months ago, and now I can really see the front hairs starting to grow even more visibly. Here is a pic from work today. I woke up, used coconut water to condition, and then slicked it back for it to dry naturally. I want to give each and every member of this board a thumbs up for sticking to what you want to do against the urge to cut your hair just to please other people. Each and every person has their own story, their own likes/dislikes, and their own life. Lets embrace diversity, and just be yourself. Take care all !
Good for you for finding your place with the long hair... sometimes it takes a while. It took me 56 years. I'm glad you figured it out in your 30s. I look forward to witnessing your progress.

Hey Patrick Brands,
Awesome!
You are a born longhair! I feel elated for you that you realize this and that you are now fulfilling this part of your identity. Too many guys are cowed into compliance into remaining shorthairs by society.
Your long hair becomes you; you look majestic, regal, beautiful! You look happier; more comfortable in your skin (and your hair). Just don't cut it. Just let it grow to terminal length.
Your longhaired bro,
Raymond
