Many thanks. You have already started by getting it all sorted out in your mind. It will take about 18 months to two years for you to get out of the awkward stage. The "marker" is the stage at which you can get all your hair through a head band at the back of your head to make a ponytail. I am not quite there yet, but very nearly. I already do a ponytail at times, but I still have some side and top hairs floating about in the wind.
The time will pass quickly. Don't worry about it. Just don't cut or trim. Get on with life. As we Brits say "Keep calm and carry on".
Just let it grow and discover a new life...

Wow! What a spectacular update! Your hair is growing very nice and I like the natural V shape it has at the ends! By the time you hit 2 years I believe you will be very happy with your hair! Please keep it growing and flowing my friend!
