Hello guys! I recently had the back of my hair trimmed for the first time in 9 months, and had a good experience. I went to my wife's hair stylist that works in a salon, and explained that I am on an epic long hair journey. She was very attentive, and focused on my wishes. She told me that long hair suited me well, and that not alot of guys, in her opinion, can pull it off. That gave me a smile, although in the end, every guy that wants longhair should not let that deter them in any way. I am constantly excited about my progress, and forming friendships with fellow longhairs. Here are a few progress pics after the trim. Take care guys !
I like this shot a lot... you're gonna have great long hair.
Looks great!! In fact, I hardly notice any loss of length whatsoever -- which is the sign of a good hairstylist, one that understands your goal of wanting to grow your hair long; just trimming every now & then to make it look better during the growing stages.
Long hair definitely looks good on you!!

Hi Patrick,
Your hair looks very nice and I'm glad you had a good experience with the stylist but I had to cringe about her comment that not a lot of guys can pull off longhair.Of course that's her opinion but does it go both ways?Maybe I'm reading too much into this but that comment kind of gives me a negative opinion of her.Regardless I'm thrilled your embarking on this journey. Go for it! :) Cheers

I definitely don't agree with what the stylist said about long hair only suiting certain men, but I still felt good that she thought it suited me :) Thanks for all of the positive feedback !
Hey Patrick B,
Awesome hair, bro!
You have thick, wavy hair. It looks cool and will look and feel even better as it gets longer. Keep posting progress pics.
Your long haired bro,
Raymond
Thank you sir ! :) I look forward to this awesome journey with open arms.
Does long hair suit all men? I think it is a very subjective idea. It also depends how self-conscious we are and how we relate to others. I was in a shop a few days ago rummaging through some shirts, and the shopkeeper called me "Madame". I turned and looked at her and she apologized. I merely replied that I understood that she made the mistake because of my long hair. I could have felt ashamed, but I didn't. I felt very neutral about the whole thing. She was polite and so was I.
I think the real question is whether we can live a normal life without constantly worrying about our hair. I found that the "awkward stage" is a big test, a trial of fire, of our being able to live with imperfection.
I have seen bald men make something of the remaining hair on the backs of their heads. I think that whatever we each want and what we can live with in society is suitable for us.
