yes - go for it - Indians are genetically blessed - I personally believe that Indian women have the most beautiful & consistently stunning manes in the world: ( IMHO ) - & this applies to men too - it's just that you rarely see Indian men with long to very long hair unless their Sikh: ( & even then it's wrapped in a turban ) - strike whilst the iron is hot - you have the vision & passion - your 7. months in now - hide the scissors & just let that beautiful dark mane grow ... cheers CEM
thanks cem.... iam trying bro.. you know its very very difficult in india for guys to have long hair.. social pressures you know..
lets see how i can progress... but i must tell you this feeling of having a little longer hair is so nice i cant explain..
take care brother..
but having long hair has been my dream since I was in school..
Hey samlonghair1,
I repeat my welcome to you, bro. Welcome to the tribe!
Dude, you are a born longhair. This means that having a majestic mane is not a passing whim that you thought of last week. You said that you have been thinking about having long hair since you were in school; in other words, all of your life. So have I. It was not until I was fifty-five (55) years of age that I began to allow my hair to grow. Very early in life we establish certain key pillars about our identity; nationality, gender, sexual orientation, . . . etc. For us who are born longhairs having long hair is also part of who we are. It is certainly not the total of who we are but when we think about who we are being a longhair is part of that self identity. We could have our hair cut, however, this would be doing violence to ourselves, part of who we are.
I am glad for you that you are now realizing this part of who you are. As for your position I suggest that you keep your hair neat and tied back in a ponytail. We longhairs are professional and we are good at what we do. I'm sure that if you keep your hair neat, tied back, and use a minimal amount of hair spray if needed your superiors will not have an issue with your long hair.
We are here for each other, bro. If you get hassled for your long hair and feel like doing the unthinkable get on the hyperboard. Your joining our family is an inspiration to me and I'm sure for the other guys here. We're here to help you with inspiration and advise.
Welcome to the family, bro.
Raymond
thanks raymond.. every word that you wrote means a lot to me. thanks again.. your insight on life issues are precious..

Hey samlonghair1,
You are strong, bro; you're a longhair, you're one (1) of us. We're the good lookin' dudes envy. We also happen to be exceptional at what we do.
Nevertheless, the Awkward Stage is something we all had to go through. For the Awkward Stage I recommend:
Try gels and sprays which do not hurt your hair to try to hold it in place when you have to look "professional".
Enjoy this part of the Long Haired Journey; try different things like hats, bandanas, ties, . . . . In a sense, this is the time to start enjoying experimenting with the different things you will be able to do with your long hair which we long hairs can do simply because we have long hair to play with and experiment with. Short hair guys don't have these options.
Develop a sense of humor; laugh at the way you look on the "bad hair" days.
Your long haired bro,
Raymond

You have gorgeous thick hair. I think it would be impossible for you to have an awkward stage! If you slick it back it will look perfectly coiffed every time, no matter the length
