Hi everyone,
I'm sorry I have not been posting much lately, but I have been reading... Hello to all the new folks.... This is THE place to be for inspiration and encouragement..
Once again, another long time longhair (15 years) at work has cut his hair (not a buzz, but short enough).... when this happened before, others told me to cut my hair and "Join the Club."
I will not, and since I have been "bunning" at work, the bosses aren't hassling me...
I wish everyone continued success...
... And Thank You all for being there....

... your most welcome 'Spaffy' - you're a true gentleman through & thru. ... believe it or not, I have being 'toying' with the idea of cutting myself, over many months now - main reason = 'THE-HASSLE-FACTOR' !!! - I hate to burst peoples bubble = but long hair can be a hassle ... what with work & running & maintaining several properties = I'm tired - very tired, at times ... so the 1st sacrifice will be the hair - but these feelings are fleeting & when I 'float' the idea & express verbally - I get an 80% 'DON'T CUT IT' response verses a 20% 'OH THANK GOD - IT'S ABOUT TIME' !!! response ... so there you have it - I too come here for inspiration & verve when I start to vacillate to 'THE-DARK-SIDE' of buzz-cuts & shaved heads ... so THANK YOU for your support, encouragement & passion that inspires so many here - big hugs CEM.
Hi CEM,
I would not cut your hair, but if you decide to do so, I would just cut it a bit shorter to see, if it is the right decision. That way you can grow it back fast with no awkward stage. I am not trying to tell you what to do, I just hate to see you do something that you would regret.

Okay, since we're walking down confessions lane...
The 'hassle factor' has caused me to consider some major cutting a time or three. Not to where my hair could no longer be considered 'long,' but considerably shorter than it is now - it's down to nipple length.
When I DO start thinking in that direction, I realise that there is little difference in the amount of care and caution needed for, say, shoulder-length hair from nipple-length hair. And then I start to think about how, as my hair grows longer, it opens up new possibilities with regard to how I can arrange it on any given day. Cutting would close a number of doors without offering any real advantages. Such thoughts enable me to 'talk myself out of' cutting.
Of course, another antidote to such thoughts is a visit to MLHH...
So whenever I'm 'suffering' on a hot day - and we've had a very hot summer here in Queensland - I go to the bathroom, make a bun, and get on with my day.
A good weekend to all and best wishes...
Don
Whenever I get the itch to cut my hair (which isn't very often) I trim my beard. In fact I just trimmed it about 30 minutes ago. I whacked it pretty good too. But don't worry, the hair is still untouched. I have a funeral to go to in the morning and I am going to put the hair in a tail. Lots of family going to be there that I haven't seen for a while, so it's going to be interesting how they react.
