Hey long haired brothers,
I'm thinking about hair extensions to take care of those stray hairs which are too short to reach the tie at the back of my head forming my pony tail. In this way these hairs will not keep falling into my face.
Any thoughts/advise?

The idea of extension has never appealed to me. I suppose it is my stubborn desire to have only what is natural. I do nothing more than wash, condition and comb. I have seen on the internet that there are several systems from professional installation to something like a head band that you cover with your own hair.
I think I read somewhere that your terminal length is only at shoulder length. I may be wrong. I often get hair in my face and in my mouth. It's especially irksome whilst eating. When tied up, my hair behaves itself indoors, but if there's any wind (like when I go sailing), I need a headband or a beanie.
You can try clips, though I have never really taken to them myself. The best thing is natural growth. Have you gone through all the usual hair growth solutions and looked at your general health?
Good luck with finding the right solution for you.
Anthony

Hey Anthony,
Thanks for your advise, bro.
I think that my hair has reached its natural terminal length and it was collar bone length. I had a trim about two (2) weeks ago. It was the first time my hair had been cut in forty-seven (47) months. Only the frizzy ends were cut. I am watching to see if there will be any further growth. I will keep you posted with a update. I still have some hairs in my bangs which are just not long enough to reach to the back of my head in order to get caught in the tie which forms my pony tail. These hairs will fall into my face and the result is a unprofessional and unkempt appearance. When it is not necessary for me to look professional I enjoy just letting my hair go free.
I will post a update and watch my hair growth for a couple of months.
Thanks again, bro.

Hey, Reymondo! You'll always have shorter hairs in the mix, thanx to the ongoing cycle of shedding hairs that have reached terminal growth and re-growth of new hairs to replace the shed ones. My hair is nipple length but I still have individual hairs that refuse to be restrained and which blow in the wind. If you see someone with long hair on whom this phenomenon is not obvious, you're looking at someone who uses a lot of product to get the hair to hang together in bulk. Looks lovely, but as most hereabouts agree, the less product in your hair the better!
I can imagine the frustration in wondering if your present length is the best you can muster. On the other hand, if there's nothing in your overall health that is a matter of concern, it sounds as if genetics are showing their presence. I'd say "patience," but of course that would sound trite to someone who has been patiently letting his hair grow out for almost four years.
Best success however you decide to approach this...kind regards,
Don
While I'd agree it's best to have your own, there's a little known type of extension that I think is the next best thing. Called "Halo" or loop extensions, it's a strip of wefted hair threaded on to one side of a loop of strong thread. You just lay the loop on the crown of your head, pull your top hair through and your own hair holds the extensions in. You can clip it, but most wearers don't even do that and it holds in place just fine. The only trick it you have to get it in a color that closely matches your own. Do a YouTube search of "halo hair" for how tos.
