This is the top of the Sea to Sky route from Limekiln Beach to the summit of Cone Peak (el. 5155'). 6 miles, less than 2 of which could be conceivably considered trail.
Despite the mostly persistent cloud cover, still a spectacular trek.
One from the front.
Amazing length dude...went walking myself last weekend in the peak district in Derbyshire...England....good for the body and soul methinks.
You're a real inspiration to me with your growth.
Scott fromm Nottingham
With hair like that and the gales we're getting at the moment, it's as to tie your hair up or stuff it into a hoodie hood. Otherwise, it will be more minutes of painful combing!
Anthony and his wind-battered hair
Sometimes it is worth it (the detangling, that is) for the feel of wind in my hair. But yes, the hair mostly stays up or covered.
Glad to serve as an inspiration.
Spent the long weekend clearing trails...albeit with hair secured under a ponyscrub and a hat.
You have hair that some of us can only dream about.
I googled Cone Peak but there are several in CA. Where are
(were) you?
See link below. The route is currently both better and worse...the bottom section now has a beautiful trail, the upper middle has a lot of brush that has grown up since the 2008 fire.
An old trail report of mine
As always, you look awesome, and that is awesome scenery, despite the clouds... it's nice to just get back to nature...
Thanks for sharing... The Spaf Man
That is the entire truth...managed to spend the long weekend out working on trails...and exploring some interesting sandstone caves.
These are spectacular photos of your hair against an awesome backdrop Trolleypup! Sounds like a heck of a hike getting there though! And the cloud cover does nothing to take away from the great view! Thanks for the inspiration!
Ted
Generally considered a fairly brutal hike. The views without clouds...well, I beg to differ...check out the images on the link in another reply!
Great scenery, and great hair as always!
Thanks!
Awesome pic there Trolleypup -- both in the spectacular background scenery of Big Sur, AND your hair!!!
This is the longest I've ever seen your hair. I swear, you're able to eek out more inches than anybody else I know!
Take Care,
Ken
Thank you! Calling the Big Sur scenery a background to my hair is an awesome compliment!
I guess I should measure then... *brb*
62.5 inches...still gaining vveeerrrrrry slowly. Thanks for the reminder!

Your hair looks super. I wish mine would grow as thick and long. How did you do that much elevation gain in such a short distance? I am guessing you hiked the ridge. How many hours to climb to the top?
Scott
The bottom mile and change is a trail and old jeep road...then you go straight up the ridge. Several sections are well over 50% grade...and there is enough up and down on ridges to accumulate 800 feet more than the absolute gain from the Pacific to the Summit.
