Hi friends...my name is Stormy and some years ago, I was a frequent contributor to this messageboard. I am posting here today because I've found something that should be of interest to longhaired men. There is a website called Past Daily which is devoted to historical audio. Today's offering is a discussion on the subject of long hair on males that was recorded in the summer of 1970 and broadcast in January 1971. It was around 1969 that I made my decision to wear my hair long despite opposition from my parents and other authority figures, and harrassment from classmates and neighbors. In today's climate of terrorism, brutality, and fear, it is hard to imagine that the length of another person's hair was ever a serious enough issue to discuss on talk radio, but here is the proof. I remember these times, and not fondly.

I started growing my hair long in 1964, so I lived through the era. I have lots of fond memories of those years.
I thrived on the thrill of breaking the rules of the dress code.
L thoroughly looked forward to going to school each day and getting complaints about my long hair and the clothes i wore.
I'm now 60 years old, still have long hair and still have alot
of fond memories of those years in the 60s and 70s.
I fonly remember all the complaints from adults, but I loved every minute of it. The more complaints i got about my long hair the more I was determined to not only keep it long but to grow it even longer.
The 70s were a time of style changes, especially in hair.in the 1974 "Escape To Witch Mountain" we see a lot of long hair at the orphanage. Check out this scene. it is actually in southern Califonia's Menlo Park. http://video.disney.com/watch/escape-to-witch-mountain-trailer-4bd80020c6d8693a6ac45c67
