Was wondering if anyone has tried Viviscal Man, or Viviscal Extra Strength?
The website claims the supplements are "clinically researched to nourish thinning hair among men and promote the growth of existing hair."
Main ingredients are:
Aminomar (Shark & Mollusc powder)
Zinc
Horsetail extract
Flax seed extract
I don't have thinning hair but would like to speed up growth if possible. The reviews of Viviscal on Amazon are very informative and generally positive. Lots of people claiming their hair grew faster.
One downside is price: 3 months will cost $120.00. It's recommended to take it for 6 months. I'm thinking of trying it and/or Biotin.
Viviscal
I'm skeptical of hair growth supplements. I think the best anyone can do for their hair is to eat a well-balanced diet with more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Genetics and hormones play too much of a role, but good nutrition will help a bit. That being noted, Zinc and Biotin are well studied to be essential for good hair growth. But always take them with protein/a meal.
I would stay away from any exotic sounding herbals or powders. You never know what effects they might have on your body, and some effects take time to develop. I once tried something with saw palmetto for a month, and sheesh I cannot tell you how horrible it made afte a while, like someone twisted my insides. It took weeks to get back to normal. Be careful.
I would agree with this although I would point out in a number
of cities we have what they call "food deserts." i.e. you'll find no food stores, only fast food establishments or tiny 24 stores that only have a few items.
I would also point out fruits and vegetables in recent years have become very expensive. And this year with the drought in California that will happen again.
